Ashes 5th Test - SCG

Weatherald out just on lunch to yet another nothing shot…unbelievable!
Tongue has had the Australian batsmen’s measure since he came in to the team.

Jeez its been a long summer for England
There players are losing it big time

3 Balls out from Lunch,he didn’t do himself or the Team any favours, with that Ridiculous Shot.

Leaves the door ajar still, for the Poms, who Won’t Die wondering.

Stokes did the right thing pulling Carse Away, dealing with the Umpire himself.

We know Fast Bowlers can carry on like Pork Chops, but Carse should not undo his Tour with an act of Stupidity.

Here come the colliwobbles…

Yes,5 down now after Carey and Labuchagne’s poor running between Wickets.
Let’s see if they make a complete hash of this!

Carey must be on a promise or have a uber delivery, needs to settle down

Weatherald was definitely out on 16 disgraceful DRS decision and the Australian commentators were piss weak. It really pissed Michael Vaughan off. The shot Trav played to get out was unnecessary. Amazing turn on day 5.

While not the result in this series England had hoped for we are seeing their next generation coming through. Not sure Australia have unearthed anything to look forward to.

Bethell looks like a real star and will be the pin-up boy of English cricket for many years to come.

Well despite nearly choking late in that run chase Australia win and take this Ashes series 4-1 so congratulations to them, most played their hearts out despite imho having less talent available than England had eg no Hazlewood at all, virtually no Cummins & Lyon, Smith missing a Test etc.
It was said Australia pretty much won all the big moments in this series but more to the point England farked up many of the big moments eg after lunch Day 2 Perth, dropping nearly 20 catches in the series to Australia’s less than 10, Jamie Smith with 3 or 4 brain farts with the bat across 3 Tests, Will Jacks yesterday, Harry Brook in most of the Tests, it goes on and on…
Australia will bask in this glory as they should but preparation for 2027 in England should begin asap as they will be hungry to destroy us in their favourable home conditions and you would think without the dozen or more brain farts they have had in more than a few of the last series that have cost them big time in the overall results!
Special mention to Starc, Head & Carey who were brilliant across the whole series.

I guess for a team that is reputedly old, fragile and a collection of Dad’s Army relucs…job well done…yeah some contentious selections, but wveryone I guess has a view, be interesting to see what happens over the next 6 months or so…

Bease it’s been a pleasure exchanging barbs with you again…I enjoy the banter…no doubt more to come over the year…to everyone else who has posted, great to see that test cricket is still alive and kicking…onwards and upwards…especially for my fave and youngest Dad’s Army relic… Cam Green

Well I would’ve been definite about it!

Any shred of doubt, the benefit must ALWAYS Go to the Batsman,So Not Out for me!

When the going gets tough… The Poms wilt under the pressure and the hot sun.
Australia has always been suspect when chasing less than 200 in the last innings.
Luckily Green and Carey showed the rest how it should be done.Though Carey gave Green a couple of scares with hot tin roof calls.

I think those responsible for the player of the series award got it right.
Starc did all the heavy lifting early on in the series.Bowled well alls eries and batted well also. How he kept bowling a the pace he did all series was amazing.
Great series coming from Head and Carey as well. Both outstanding contributors.

but there is no doubt … we can all see the snicko grumbling and it doesn’t grumble like that when the ball goes through without touching anything.

He was 100% out. Its a bigger embarrassment on CA given they let the network choose that system (I did not know until it came up last that that the broadcast network chooses which system to use) over Ultra Edge which even our BBL uses. Far more advanced technology and The Ashes is much more important than the BBL. How did they agree to let them use it or not support it with something like hot spot.

Dodgy Technology?

All the more reason to say Not Out?

The ICC either gets the Technology FAULTLESS,or we go Totally Back to the Umpires!

And I wouldn’t have that Any Other way!

Needed some chalk on the end of his bat me thinks

The ICC does not choose the technology . The broadcast network does as they pay for it.

Ultra Edge is better but the network chose the cheap option.

They might clothe technology, but Surely they a Responsibility to get important things like this Spot On,throughout Test Cricket?

Well I thought it was pretty clear it was out and so does 80% of the population.

The only person who isn’t sure was the third umpire. There is a murmour on snicko, what other evidence do we need? He hit it clear as day.
