Was a good batsman I enjoyed watching, more of the elegant stroke maker but loves to play the victim which is pretty typical… Oops is that me racially stereotyping? Sorry

Well,he’d be wrong about current assessments about him and Hazelwood for starters.
That is to state the bleeding obvious about the older players needing to retire and move on.
No racial profiling there.Just a cold,hard call for such players to make way for younger players,as good as their services to the Team has been.
He would also know that Injuries to older bods such as he,Hazelwood and now Lyon,makes necessity for change a Must!
If he still feels he can contribute something to Sheffield Shield Cricket,then he needs to get to the discussion table with Queensland or another State to negotiate a 1 or 2 year deal.
I too felt his comments about racism was off. To say it was racist attacks from the media regarding his preparation for the first test just sounds sooky and takes away from all the great work he has done over the years as the first Muslim player to play tests for Australia.
Grassy you have gotten it right these injuries really highlight the need for generational change within the Australian setup, and the change needs to happen quickly.
Players like Konstas, McSweeney, Kellaway, Renshaw, Scott, Edwards, Bartlett, Richardson, Meredith, and Connelly need to be playing as much test cricket as possible before we next tour the UK. And watch for a kid from NSW called Joel Davies
