One great quarter and we fought to a needed victory. I’m thinking Perth might be playing a little too well and consistently for us. You never know but our midfield is struggling.

So do Peel and West Coast’s Reserves,…quite visibly.It’s those excess eagles and dockers members that do a disappearing act.
Speaking from experience,Achilles injuries linger for a long time,which might explain Stephens steady decline in his 5 performances since his promising Subi debut.Angus Scott was also a late withdrawal and is anyone privy to the reason why he came out on Friday night??
rl, all I have seen for Scott is “leg.” so it could be anything from his toe to his groin.

There lots of reasons for our current position on the ladder, the improvement by other traditional WAFL teams, injuries, lapses in form and some lack of depth in our squad. I still reckon we will play finals, how far we progress will depend on the on the day performance.

Unchanged lineup with no Angus Scott and surprise surprise Cooper Stephens.Looking at the previous clash where we fell in,Perth have 2 good ins in Parfitt and Paton,while we have lost Brayshaw,Scott,Ameduri and our best key Defender Macreedie,who is surprisingly returning back from a 2 month hamstring injury in the reserves.
This year’s injury toll is the worst that I can recommend at the club, Lucky, although looking at the WAFL website, I know that we’re not Robinson Crusoe.
However, I’m baffled as to the reason(s) for our massive 2026 injury toll.
We have a few experienced players who are regularly injured.
Anyhow, I’m sure the 23 who run out on Saturday will give it their all, but Perth are in red-hot touch and playing with a lot of confidence.
If we’re to be any chance of finishing the season well, let’s hope that Harry Macreadie gets through the reserves game unscathed.
I don’t know Archie,I’m not overly enthused to bump into this loaded up Peel side and lose our 3rd consecutive Grand Final,regardless of who was available,I think we are best served getting more game time into the likes of Lindberg,Souter,Cassidy although it was very disappointing to lose the talented Regan again to injury.Unfortunately for us,Stephens has brought his injury riddled history across the border with him,the returning Craven has been just OK,Freitag has lived up to the first impression that I had in the preseason that he was a likely dud,and Foley is solid at WAFL level,but certainly no match winner.I’m also starting to feel with Middleton and Graham playing in the forward line together,we’re probably a bit too top heavy,so we need to somehow find the right mix which can net us that elusive premiership,and the WAFL brains trust needs to restrict Peel from recruiting,because this side looks more powerful than the ones that stopped the Subi juggernaut.
Or someone can can just GETTEM’ on the Big Day with ALL GUNS BLAZING!
Won’t really matter what happens Tuesday or Wednesday night afterwards!

Definitely not giving enough credit to Foley, for his first season and coming back from several injuries where he hardly played last year, he has been great down back. Our injuries we ensure we dont do much at all this year as we cant get any momentum, therefore, I hope the dees go all the way and knock off Peel in the GF.
Its too rich for a royal like myself to complain about the afl aligned teams after what we did only 7+ years ago but the wafl has created a powerhouse in Peel and credit to freos injury list and management, but it will be near on impossible to knock them off but geez Id love Perth to do it

Well the board decision for the FULL alignment was obviously made for financial reasons,and we’ve got a million in the bank because of it so isn’t that a good thing Dev???by contrast Peel have had it for over a decade and are apparently still in the red???Also on the latter alignment instalment,we never over the 5 year period went on a big recruiting spree,and really only picked up McGinnitty and Wellingham in that whole period,while Peel picked up half a dozen at the start of the season,including the recruit of the year Pardew,so can you see the difference there Dev.???

Did anyone ever ask West Coast what the point of their alignment was,if all their available leftover players weren’t playing?
After all their moaning about not playing them in any WAFL Reserves Team,what happened to the extras at East Perth if only a handful played in those Grand Final Sides?
This is more a dig at West Coast of course,rather than East Perth and Bubby!.
Pointless exercise Old D,95% of them all got delisted,with only Barrass,Sheed playing a few games early doors,but from an Eagles point of view it hasn’t really achieved anything,and left them in a better position than the old model,where players where spread across the other WAFL clubs.

Completely understand the reason to do the full alignment was for money but it set the club back years in terms of true on field success and ensured we had no east perth culture back then..anyone can say all they want about it but my opinion is that I did not like the full alignment, never have and never will and again, in my opinion, as a club who took on a full alignment, we can never whinge about peel..when we lost the GF in 24, I had family around me saying its not fair as they have all these afl player etc my take was - so what? We did the exact same thing but only difference was, we couldnt win a GF.
I’ve never complained about Peels AFL player alignment,I’m complaining about their ability to recruit when they have a minimum of a dozen playing week in week out,what’s the point of existing or having a zone???

But the obvious beneficiary of a reduced Metro Zone is South,…
But how much of the South/West do Peel have now?
Relinquish that and the obvious Winners should be East Perth and Swans!
