Just finished watching the last quarter, could not waste 4 or 5 hours on a game that took at 2 hours with breaks. It was great to look at the WAFL stats and see a good spread of possessions across all lines. I like Cassidy, Lindberg and Screaigh in the side. Thought Senit played a more complete quarter in the last and influenced the hitouts. One thing I am mightly impressed with and that is Tom Graham. He is using his strength, bulk and obvious ability to play a much more complete game.
As for the commentator, if I recall Cam Robbins is related to the Subiaco player from a bygone era, played at subi, came to EP and as a coach or development officer at EP before moving into his career with other organisations. Nice bloke but is a bit quirky.
One thing I will agree with what Robbins said on a couple of occasions was that East Perth is a better team with Zach Raykos in it

Did I hear one of the commentators refer to Thomas Edwards-Baldwin as a former EP player? Isnât he ex Subiaco?

Robbins continues to call the EP coach as Ross McEwen, refers to Scott Jones as the âbig butcher from Busseltonâ and calls #5 Willcox as Kyle, not Kye. I know, bit petty, however he has made the same calls now over many years when calling EP games. He also gets super excited when a goal or good play occurs and screams into the microphone, distorting what ever heâs trying to highlight.

The commentary of the WAFL games on 7+ is totally abysmal, matched only by the camera work. Have these guys only just started watching football?
When Iâve seen them âsetting upâ at Leederville Oval, the camera operators appear to be young, apprentice like (nothing against apprentices). Probably learning the ropes before trying to obtain employment at the ârealâ Channel 7.

I think the coverage for games other than those actually done 7 are done by Front Row Screens.
I must admit whilst I donât have a lot of time for Townsend but Iâm glad when we get him doing the commentary.
Although against Claremont he was obsessed with Oscar Hine Baston playing his first game for the year.

A magnificent character-filled win by the Royals last night given the massive injury/suspension list (I counted 12 players missing with genuine claims for selection, although some havenât played a senior game this season) and the stacked Weagles line-up.
After kicking ourselves out of three earlier games in the last quarter (East Freo and Peel at Leederville, WP at Joondalup), it was nice to see our former âmastersâ fritter away some straightforward chances (their last nine scoring shots were all behinds).
That makes 10 successive wins over West Coast and although this was the narrowest of them, I rate it as the sweetest.
