1st Semi Final. Claremont v Perth

Hill out, Fleiner in. Anyone know what happened there?

And just like that we are playing like a community team again. Complete dumb decisions. Someone tell Taylor to have some urgency kicking out from a point. Game over and we didn’t fire a shot

It’s one thing to get done but it’s another thing to get bullied by the same guys ever time we play this mob. They play with far more physicality yet they aren’t overall bigger than us. That’s why we have such a soft underbelly

Injury has dogged us to the end - Schlensog out before q3, plus Paton and Jacques hampered. Lesser players are being exposed - Roberts, Fleiner, Bodle. Avoiding injury and building depth has to be a focus next year.

Something to build on for next year. Well done on a good season Never really in it today

Watched Perth live a few times this year+on tv.
Looks like the team likes fast ball movement.Like last week, like Freo does.
Claremont where just better at ground level. With the wet footy.
Lots to build on for 2026.

I will write my thoughts up tomorrow peeps. Want to watch the replay first. We have wonderful supporters is all I will say tonight.

I was surprised at the almost total lack of spark in the Demons
well apart from the opening minutes of the 3rd quarter
possibility that Perth played their finals last weekend who knows

Very hard for a team to back up after winning an elimination final in a top 5 Nobody has survived the next game apart from the AFL stacked Peel team of 2016. So no disgrace to Perth for losing today.

IMO we lost it in the first qtr. Delivered donuts with a 2-3 goal breeze then Claremont did what we should have done in the first qtr.

Clarke had a mare, Schlenga not much better. Claremont clean, we were not.

Positives for me. I think we’ve got a new No1 ruckman and I think he’s going to be one of the best ruckmen in the comp in a couple of years. If only the umpires will understand ruckmen should be allowed to jump.

Wasn’t impressed with Fleiner until today. Cramped up badly in the 3rd qtr. I reckon Mark Stone will be trying to squeeze Jack Evans into the 22 in round 1 next year. Great debut by Jacob Roberts. Found another medium tall but I hope Matt Taylor keeps going for a couple more years at least.

I may be wrong, but I’m sure Eastland gets away with a lot of interference at ruck contests.
I may be wrong again, but I thought Jaques got penalised for similar things.
He did well in the latter part of the season.
As I said I may be wrong but I’m not so sure.
What the club needs is big, bodied brute in the midfield, that can run and kick.
Constable got mauled all day, by Barron? and no protection from the umpires.

DF Eastland is a very good footballer but he is the umpires pet. Jaques got crucified again today like in the second qtr after Jaques dominated the 1st qtr a few weeks ago.

Claremont get kissed on the dick everytime. I think most umpires are Uni students. You do the math.

I agree with previous poster. I watched a bit of WAFL footy online when I could and I really enjoyed watching Perth.
Schlensog is my favourite WAFL player atm.
Sorry you couldn’t go on with it Demons but Claremont are probably the best team to push Souths

Think the Preliminary final will be a good contest. The winner will not be any match for South unfortunately

I have heard Raponi on Wednesday and today Percic (Paul-not sure of surname spelling) say there is big news regarding a WAFL coach next year - Stone??

Mike I shook hands with an East Perth player immediately after the game today. I said good luck next week … He replied “we will fkn smash’em”. I won’t reveal his name. Agree neither are a match for South’s. It’s theirs to lose.

We were absolutely decimated by injuries in the last couple of months and were at breaking point.

Look at Claremonts’ injury list. No one of note apart from Hunter due to concussion. Scoble was hobbling badly at training on Friday and same today. Still played a magnificent game. Hopefully the dumb fuck AFL clubs let him play another season in the WAFL and he will be cherry ripe to succeed at the highest level.

That’s what Randall was recruited to be. Sadly Simpson hasn’t been the recruit we hoped he could be so maybe room to find what you are referring to.

For what it’s worth, I could not be prouder of the current players and coaching staff. They are quality people through and through who gave us our best season this century. Back at the club after the game, I wanted to thank every single one of them for their contribution to our club. I did get to a few but not all. There is finally great optimism for what lies ahead. Already I can’t wait for 2026.

Wish I’d gone to that CM but my son came to the footy today (and last week). Took me out to lunch for Father’s Day and had to bring him back to my place so he could make the trek back home an hour north of my place.

I would have loved to be there and hope that everyone is as keen as mustard to commit for 2026.
