Very good opening round attendances. Of course most supporters are up and about and full of hope and optimism and starved of football. Will be interesting to see how it trends. If anyone wants to post weekly attendances here will be good to track.
Perth v Subi 2396
SD v WC 2500 approx
SF v EP 2728
PT v EF 2500 approx
WP v Cl 4000 approx
With the Eagles being an unsupportable basket case these days you would think some of their fans would drift to the WAFL. Some no doubt will jump on the Dockers bandwagon. Just pretend they never supported West Coast. Should bode well for WAFL really so could top the 14, 742 that could be arsed to turn out last year RD 1.
We started well last year then dropped off. The right teams have started well. So that is promising. I think the wafl have made a good go at promoting the comp : Win Win plus a creative ad in the west about the good old days.
The first week of fixturing been well attended according to reports (like last season).
With the expected fine weather for next weekend, we can be hopeful of more good attendances next week and beyond. Apparently just a tick over 4 thousand people turned out for the WP v Clmt Thursday night match, which is fantastic.
[quote=“Bazza post=234522 userid=872”]Yes, finally WAFL get the fixturing right, the WP v Claremont game was great idea and public responded.
Bit surprised at the 2700 at Fremantle Oval as the crowd liked a bit down on that around the 2000 mark.

Mandurah crowd Saturday looked around 1600 to 1800. Will be interesting to see the official crowd figures from RD 1. Nothing up on the WAFL website as yet but we all know how busy they are. It has only been a few days now too so that is to be expected that nobody has had time to do so.
Probably sent in by someone at the commission. They and the West do such a great job promoting the WAFL! no mention of SportsFM. 14,500 crowd for RD 1 can’t be verified either because they have not even bothered to release that information to the public yet.
Haha…yes Baz…if I recall correctly, some little shit used a kotj in an aggravated burglary the other day. At least when the word is used in evidence, the Beak will know what is being spoken about.
Well 3 rounds done and not one official attendance figure showing on the WAFL website under fixtures and results. Slack. West reporter wrote 1000 approx at Perth v Swans. 2000 minimum. I had a hard time finding a park half way through the last qtr of the colts game.
Yes I notice people on here say that we are well supported but it seems to me that our approx figures are always a lot less than even say Claremont and Subi. It happens too often to be a coincidence. Either it’s true and we are not well followed or the west are trying to demoralise us so we will join with the eagles. I wouldn’t put it past nesbitt to have had a word with the west in the past.
