WA premier

Has the WA premier just resigned and walking away from politics?

Coaching West Coast next season

Probably slightly earlier than I expected but he was never going to bother running next time around.

He is the last on the old pollie pension scheme , $250K a year plus for life..

Off to Woodside or Rio now for the champagne and private boxes plus big bucks along with that blue collar socialist Wyatt., happy days.

Saffioti to get the job I would say.

Hey, where were you Saturday? Your fruit cup melted, a bit like your team.

But I agree, they must have the big shiny desk ready next to Ben Turncoat at Rio Tinto. Wouldn’t be pulling the pin otherwise.

Yep,

Wyatt and him had an agreement to go early, but Ben cut and ran early. Sneakers has been champing at the bit to piss off for a while.

The house in Rock will be flogged and he will be up in the rich cashed up burbs quick as a flash.

I would imagine cookey would slide into the position as he is the deputy sheriff. Although Anderson has made no secret of liking to climb the ladder. Probably makes no damn difference to the voters.

Good riddance can’t stand the prick. I’ve never liked 4 year terms and this has probably contributed to his burnout. Almost as good as a Perth win on Saturday.

The Libs/Nats have a punchers chance at the next election. They should have a pep in their step after this news.

Maybe Albo can send him to China as Australian Ambassador. Just been over there greasing the wheels for WA.

goes down into history as the man who utterly destroyed the WA Liberal Party

Indeed the high water “Mark” for WA Labor has come and gone from now they will be just protecting what they have , which is a truck load of seats a pile of which will flow back to the libs next time around but it won’t be enough fro them to win.

None of the other labor ministers are really popular Cooked would be a disaster Saffioti is pretty much the string puller behind he scenes and has a huge amount of influence, she’s also on the news in a hard hat most nights talking about Metro Mess, she will most likely want to be in the top job and out of transport prior to the Armadale line shut down which promises to be a nightmare in more ways than one for about two years.

Some gravy like the job in Peking would not be off the cards and no doubt being talked about.

Cookey, fmd, I saw him at the beach at Naval Base one morning last year, he said hi to me then said hi to my dog and my dog then growled at him. I trust my dog

With Dear Leader gone, it should give the Libs/Nats an opportunity to make in-roads into Labor’s big lead if they choose the right candidates and keep the Clan under control as Labor is really devoid of any talent at the front end.

East coasters dont understand, MM’s contribution to the Australian economy .
He kept Covid out of Wa.The mines worked as normal with no shut-downs.
Sat over a booming economy. Paid down debt, the largest infrastructure spend in Wa’s history.
All health systems over the world are crapola ,post coved.Theres never enough money for health care.
Can’t stand Federal Labour. There plotting to steal our GST.
Mark has cleaned up the LNP in two state and one Federal election. Huge result in a traditional conservative state.
Been a great Premier for Wa.Wish him all the best.Hope he can have a normal life without the death threats.
Finally this is no surprise. MARK almost walked in March 2020,just before Covid.Had a meltdown when Ben Wyatt was leaving, his gun Treasurer. Ben stayed on to the end of Covid.
My tip he works for a big Chinese company or Kerry Stokes.

Delusional.

Liberal in WA stinks so badly the whacko parties are in play - actually Liberal stinks so bad across the country it won’t matter who leads the rabble they just keep on showing how cheap & nasty they are - all over the country
Even a backwater redneck Katter is more popular - get you some of that
just have a look at the neanderthal idiot in Tasmania and what he’s just sold all of them for

I think that was Petey Collier and Nicky Goiran

Covid made Sneakers, take that away and you really struggle to find some big achievements in office.

While I fully supported his actions during Covid particularly the border closures I think it masks over what was a very ordinary tenure as premier. Even then I thought his anti landlord measure during covid were terrible and now some of them are going to be made permanent.

Effectively he capitalized on the age old WA v Canberra and East animosity and mindset, which is basically the forte of the Libs, over the course of history Brand, Court etc…

Take the gloss away from Covid management and you really have black marks and fails all over the place.
Went around opening all of Barnetts projects while in office, meanwhile there is little to show for his time in office, Metro Mess is underwhelming, Armadale shut down delayed 1 year, removal of level crossings expected to take another two years with no trains. Womens Hospital still a mystery bag - No real legacy left there.

Then there is the Health and Hospital disaster, Cook was eventually forced out and apparently the left wing power brokers were at his neck after getting rid of Cook ever since.

Law and Order - terrible Banksia Hill is in chaos; Police numbers are terrible and morale and recruitment is failing badly,

Housing, shortages all over the place and his anti landlord measures aggravated it, froze rents and now will be changing the Tenancy Act to remove Landlord control of changes to properties and reduce rent reviews.

Pushed State, Taxes, Fees and Charges through the roof, and the same time spent very little, industrial action still on going for those that have not had decent pay rises in years. Pretty much adopted scrooge policy while blowing $90 million of useless RAT tests.

Mint Scandal - Clearly he had checked out mentally by then.

Nepotism, Gave the State Governors job to his best mate and mentor gravy train Beasley - fist time in WA history an party Pollie has been given the job, then doubles down and gives it to his Covid Cop mate Dawson.

Pushed through Upper house reforms to favour Labor despite saying they had no plans to do so.

On a footy note, the bloke didnt have a clue about WAFL, dont think I ever saw him once at a game, even mention it or support it in any way, unlike Barnett who was a genuine WAFL bloke.

Not much to choose from after McGowan for Labor leader, they are on the wane now, no way can Libs win the next one, the numbers are too big, but they will put a serious dent in the majority and have a crack next time around.

More to do with Covid, Libs should of kept their natural anti Canberra Pro State stance and supported border closures instead of being half hearted and then trying to jump on board at last minute, felt sorry for the young guy they chucked in at last minute to lead the show. Barnett actually did some great things for the State, he was let down by idiots like teh chair sniffer.

Marky Mark has been wanting to jump into a resources job for a while, the fact that we are paying him $250,000 a year for life is utterly outrageous. Those pollies pensions are a rort.
