I am still trying to get my head around this competition, if any of you gents can help me please do.
This Eagles team breaches our salary cap rules by miles, it breaches our points system by god knows how much, but they can play in a finals series against teams that must follow these rules?
I suppose Peel are no different, so why have a point system and salary cap? This should be removed, at least the richer clubs can recruit heavily to try and match it with these two clubs, I know the poorer clubs like mine will suffer but at least we are all on the same page.
Not sure what you are talking about Falcon. It’s an AFL reserves team and these guys are paid as professional footballers but most of them are not established AFL players yet. It’s a pointless excercise adding their salaries if that’s what you are doing and comparing it to the stand alone traditional WAFL clubs.
That was a weak WCE side for mine Falcon. Too top heavy considering the windy and wet conditions. They could get a lot stronger this week. WP should have won on paper.
I reckon they’ll be a lot stronger too Roman. This week they can play whomever they like given they have a fixture on Thursday night. Anyone not playing at AFL level will be available to play WAFL which brings guys like Oscar Allen or Hickey into the equation if one makes way for NicNat as does Cameron, Hutchings and Duggan.
And as harsh as it sounds, you can say whatever you life F. Not going to make any difference. I for one am really angry the direction the Wafl has been allowed to go, but unless everybody starts complaining and protesting very loudly nothing is going to change for the better.
Sadly if West Perth was one of the clubs that agreed to these bastards entering the competition, their just going to have to like it. Gives me no joy to say.
Its funny you say that Roman, when it was raining the game was very even, but then it dried up and that bought their big men into game and they carved us up, but in saying that the boys did rally at the end but it wasn’t meant to be… now it’s Claremonts problem.
Gee turtle…I think I must be watching a different game. 15 scoring shots to 7 and 56 i50’s to 22. The jerkers are still in it but they must start taking the chances they’re getting in front goal and limit the overuse of handball on a slippery day.

I posted this at 3/4 time Falcon. You blokes were never in it except for the last 10 minutes when unbelievably you could have snatched it.
Back in 2012 I think both the Eagles and Dockers wanted stand alone clubs, they come out with this draft, it said that both these teams would not accumulate premiership points and would not play finals, we all know that all the WAFL clubs rejected the proposal and now we have this.
So the idea of them not participating in the finals is something they where willing to do back then why not now? I know Peel would be a problem because they are a aligned team.

Yeh I know mate but it wasn’t meant to be, like I said it’s Claremonts problem now and my little mate Harro needs to find a way.
Lets not kid ourselves WCE are the only legitimate contender to knock off Subi hopefully they can go all the way now!
It may also wake the clowns up at WAFC who gave them a leg up and to start off with and hopefully rein it in for years to come but this is the WAFC we are talking about!

I made the comment to Falcon and SD on the w/end that how good would it be if we had the old reverse draft and all the AFL players were dispersed evenly across the comp. If it remained as it did we would have $ubi still dominating but Perth would have their key forward and back and strong bodied midfielder, Swans would have been more competitive, EF would have had 4 or 5 players from the reverse draft and more competitive. The biggest advantage of the old system is the AFL players who played WAFL would become more diverse and better people as they interact with other people and less chance of boredom etc
Jess Sinclair and Heath Black both say their career highlight was winning the 97 flag with Souths.
It’ll turn around one day, they’ll get a report that says exposure to different cultures is the key to success etc etc and they’ll ask to place people at wafl clubs. Til then we take the money and keep the comp going.
Unless subi screw it forever before then course.
