If it follows the trend of last year the pitch will become a road tomorrow for England to bat on. This is the most wickets that have fallen on Day 1 of an ashes test in its 150 year history. The batting on both teams is not that bad, the pitch was dangerous, Batsmen were getting hit consistently, its almost like the pitch was underprepared like last year

For Aust to win this match from here, one wpuld think Eng would need to be rolled for under 150…even that may be too much for Aust to chase on current evidence. If that was to happen…geez Lyon was a wasted pick then…Webster bowls both medium and spin…plus can swing the willow…
Good challenge coming up for Boland today…hopefully at 35, he shouldn’t be rattled…but Eng seemed to of gotten into his head after that UK series…and not the best of starts yesterday for Scotty. Interesting to read O’Neill should of played / or play instead of Boland…isn’t O’Neill slower then Boland? I am an O’Neill fan, but if the Eng bat’s targeted Boland for his lack of pace, then won’t they target O’Neill as well?

Pommie bowlers knackered after less than 40 over. Pace well down. Wood I reckon might struggle to play next test. Was limping before his first spell.
