Scratchy at Freo oval 11am Saturday. Might go and have a look.
Hayden finally taken off the web list today.
Apparently May is a gun and should be one of the top power key forwards in the Wafl.
Richards will be used mainly as a hard at it pressure forward, something we need badly. He is versatile so can be used elsewhere when needed
Team for tomorrow’s scratchy against South Freo. Good to see Giro back and Clark playing ressies but no Lockyer. Borchet, Eaton, Braut to name a few first 22 missing.

BC not a lot of height in that backline!! Mids and forwards look ok, but good test against one of the big 2 flag contenders.
Quick question, I will be OS (UK/Europe) for the first 4 games of the season, can I still get into the AFL app to watch the WAFL games replays?
That won’t be an issue mate. Sometimes watching Australian media live is an issue but just use a VPN like Nord and problem solved
Does Nord work with kayo?
Cheers Frothy
Not much to get excited about today 12.19 - 4.4 loss
May looks ok kicked a couple and likes a bit of biff
Mullane took a few good grabs
James was too good for Edwards and Wagen in the ruck and dominated the hit outs, hate to say it but Eaton probably would have done better. Even Mayo in short stints did better
Good to see Giro back
Clark played well in the magoos Subi coming back from 40pts down to win by a point
Early days both teams had a few out but we need to do better
I think SF will dish out a few hidings to a lot of sides this year DG.
Absolutely mate they look strong af
I think it’s going to be a loooooong season for the Lions.
Quite possibly BC.
We have lost a lot and got very little back from what I saw yesterday. Archie May will be good, Coolio and Richards were very average.
Didn’t see Braut, Savigni, Lockyer, Foley, Borchet, Eaton, Evitt, Snadden, plus Clark played magoos.
Schoey, Giro and May all played limited time.
Ruck still bothers me, Edwards looks a bit logish but let’s face it he was a reserves player last year so can’t expect too much from him.
All in all it’s hard to make any predictions based on yesterday as a lot of players were trialed so we see how we go with a settled line up with our best team.
Plus souths are strong af and have a lot to play for with Shloithe’s concerns
Have to agree with your summation DG , we looked off the pace all day, but don’t take a lot out of scratch match results , however would have liked to see a little more system than I did. Thought I saw Foley early but maybe picked up something and went off? Wagenknect also went off and didn’t return so maybe Edward’s was left to do majority of the rucking and ran out of puff? Thought Archer May showed something ( only played second half) and Mullane was probably our best over four quarters. Definitely not our best team or performance, but South were too good and lucky they didn’t kick straight!
As with BC a couple of us also mentioned it could be a long year and the fact I have booked an overseas holiday for September this year means I would be surprised if we are in the finals!
Yes not much system out there Jjim. I think Foley was out there for a little bit, I must have missed him.
Wagen limped off just before half time and Mayo took his place in the ruck for a short time before finishing up at half time. After that it was left to Edwards for the second half, but James rucked all day and killed us.
A bit of a concern May kicked half our score, one from a strong pack grab and good long kick and the other from a nothing into something snap. We should do better with May and Mayo out there at the same time plus Borchet back
Wasn’t a great day to be a forward. Hate to see the stats for forward 50 entries, would have been plenty to not many. We will at least have some height in the forward line with Borchet, May and Mayo all there.
All starts in the midfield tho and we were smashed there, hopefully Greg Clark back soon to provide some drive.
Good to see Braut and Clark named but no Lockyer or Savigni and looking very thin in the midfield rotations.

Thanks BC. I might pop over to Claremont oval. Think we had our season launch last night.
Can you give us a bit of a report JL? I can’t get down there tomorrow cheers
We’ll, what to say? Taj looks to be moving nicely. That was probably the best thing. Generally they looked pretty fit. Claremont just looked bigger and stronger.
Our new Ruckman is a big boy. He makes space around the drop of the ball. Mayo did some rucking and stood up in the forward line.
Number 58, possibly O’Keefe or Walker, showed something. Ditto number 26, possibly Mott. Giro moved well but turned it over. Definitely an addition, though. Henderson needs to get some pants that don’t fall down. Seriously, the elastic was broken or something.
We’re going to need some natural improvement in some of our honest fringe players . May looked physically impressive but didn’t do a hell of a lot. Cooley didn’t set the world on fire but looked neat enough. Our kicking is still suspect.
Hopefully we’re competitive. By the way, our futures were destroyed by Claremont on Friday night. That’s not promising.
Cheers JL. I thought we might have done a bit better than that looking at the teams on paper, and to think they had hunter in the magoos bagging a lazy 6.4.
They destroyed us in the magoos too, by almost 100, hopefully our colts fare a bit better tomorrow
