This is the game of the round and the year so far.It also will wind up what should be a good round of AFL football.
These two sides are , at the moment, the best in the competition. Both sides strong all over the ground.
The Tigers will miss Nankervis if he doesn’t play. But then again it could be a blessing with the likes of Martin feeding off NN and Lycett.
Both sides have back lines that are strong. The Eagles have a much vaunted defence with McGovern, Barass and Shepherd giving great service. But Richmond are not far behind. The forwards from both clubs will be under pressure,Hopefully the umpires don’t go over board as has been suggested the media on thearm chops and hold. This issue was raised by Hawks coach Clarkson in a meeting with McGlachlin.
Over all should be a great game and going right to the line.
I have selected the Eagles only because it is played here and Optus will be filled with Eagles supporters.
Anchor.., Mick Malthouse said on the radio during the Gws v WCoast match. That Jack Darling is to heavy, and strong for all the defence opponent’s. And a great tank running up the ground also.
No one prepared to make comment on how the game will pan out.Make it a real football discussion!!
C’mon fellas that is what this site is about.
Who wins and why.
I think West Coasts forward defencive pressure will go a long way to deciding the outcome assuming they get enough first use of the ball. Get the forward pressure right and I think the Eagles win pretty comfortably. Cripps, LeCras, Rioli and the taller forwards need to lay tackle after tackle.
The other key to beating the Tigers is to control the tempo of the game. At times you need to slow it down and spread the Tigers. Kick to mark ratio needs to increase to achieve this. Most sides fall in to the trap of hand balling too much against the Tigers pace and pressure and end up turning it over and get caught out the back as the Tigers forwards run hard back to their goals extremely quickly.

It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Easy money. Simmo followed the “beat Tigers game plan” superbly. Well done UHTB on your analysis.
Exactly. For your information this topic was about a match between the Eagles and Richmond.

What is it like being a swans & Freo supporter? Must be frustrating.

uhtb I am a Swan Districts’s supporter. I am not a freo supporter since the host club alignment. I have not watched more than the first half of a Freo game this season and I have only watched the first two quarters of their game against St Kilda.
As to what it is like to be a Swans’s supporter I am not sure which WAFL club you supported but I have supported Swans since the 1960s and whilst we have some lean times we have some really great times as well. If you are a genuine supporter you take the bad with the good.
