The Peel colts team ran the much vaunted Gummies to only fall 10 points short which suggests that if EF are as good as published the colts game will be something worthy of a visit. To early to call a result but given our game against Subi’s colts I reckon we will do alright.
A six goal defeat against EF may suggest that the well isn’t all that deep down at Mandurah and with our fighting comeback win against Subi I reckon we can do the job required.
EF beat Peel which either suggests that EF are good or that the crabs are just like their AFL team soft shelled crabs. We will not have Mr Jones but Tom Amos will step up and do what is required. I think that Stan Wright will come in and be a welcome addition.
It looks like you’ll be without Robertson this week as he was suspended for one match for whacking Delahunty. Our Stainsby copped two weeks for his tackle on T E-B which from what I saw of it is fair enough. There was a fair bit of niggle in that game and reckon your Kuek and our Braut were both lucky to get a slap on the wrist.
Grump, pretty sure EF colts will be doing well to play finals TBH..all media hype me thinks…though EF colts did come from 2-3 goals down at 3/4 time to beat Peel. From that EP colts win over Subi, either Subi are not a patch on last year’s premiership side or EP are a very good side who will go deep in the colts comp this year.
I reckon with Freo’s growing injury list, Peel will always be vulnerable…I think EP should have no probs v Peel this week…definitely a good time to be playing Peel i reckon
I reckon that Nicholas Merritt might be worth a go at FF, seems to have what a good forward needs, takes a good mark more often than not and kick straight when he got the opportunity

unless they select a extra tall i don’t see merritt getting a game.i suspect ajang will be number one ruck so sebit or somebody else will need to be a back up ruckman.don’t like the idea of sebit being the back up ruck as he needs to concentrate on his forward craft.tom amos is just not a forward for my liking.eddie simpson played forward/ruck last year so i would give him another chance.time to give allsop a go with tbe out for a couple of weeks and stan or cooley for robbo.peel are not flush with dockers at the moment but we need to be careful we don’t under estimate them.
I hope it’s more, Southerner.
Game-ending injuries to Jones and Edwards-Baldwin, reducing East Perth’s bench to two for almost three quarters, proved costly.
Not saying the Royals would’ve beaten Subi, but if we’d had a four-man bench I reckon the game would’ve gone down to the metaphorical wire.
if we go for similar replacements i would think wright and furlong.i thought we were one tall short last week.wouldn’t mind haydon playing and blee being the swingman while backs and forwards resting.one thing is for sure peel will be a stronger team this week with 3 or 4 dockers back from injury to play wafl.can’t afford to be complacent.
An absolutely pathetic performance by East Perth today.
Peel was far too good but I thought some of our blokes threw in the towel in the last quarter.
The Royals won’t win a game this season based on what they showed today.
I’m not privy to the club’s off-season non-recruiting decisions, but it’s a shame there wasn’t enough room in the salary cap to make Will Schofield a decent enough offer.
I’m assuming that was the only reason Schofield didn’t rejoin the Royals after his time there during the alignment.
His leadership and all-round versatility really stood out today, something we sadly lacked.
However, as St Kilda showed in the AFL today, a week is a long time in footy, so I’m hoping East Perth at least shows some pride against East Fremantle next week.
To be honest, their performance and attitude couldn’t be any worse than the crap they served up today.
It is pretty hard to follow on from what Archie has said other than than to agree whole heartedly with his summary. I don’t think Schofield was ever likely to join us, Perth had a chance but circumstances played a part in the decision and being married to a Mandurah girl may have been the decider.
The Ressies had a great win but what is annoying, frustrating and perplexing is when talking to a couple of them it is apparent that both teams play to the same game plan, both teams get drilled in the same skills and process but only one brings it to the table. It IS NOT about players, we have some good and very good players but it seems that when they run out on the field one team plays to it and enjoys their game and the other …!
The colts had a good win again and next weeks game at EF promises a lot!
At a quick count, only nine Dockers in Thunder’s lineup, 58shark, making the magnitude of East Perth’s defeat inexcusable.
We certainly can’t play that badly again (I hope not, anyhow), but your blokes certainly won’t be quaking in their boots leading up to next week.
Grump, I didn’t know Schofield was married to a Mandurah girl but had heard that our club was chasing him and that the financial offer fell a bit short.
I thought Schofield was BOG today, but I don’t know many other Peel players.
Pretty sure Grump, reckon EP colts will canter in next week v EF…after that EF reserves loss, EF colts only avenue to goal in Jack Williams will be playing reserves next week…EP colts by 8 goals minimum mate.
barney called it deplorable.only player that got any sort of praise was matthew young who he sent into the midfield.the worst defeat since the first game of 2018 when subi beat us 29 goals to 10 when we had a dozen eagles playing with us.yes peel had several dockers and about half a dozen seasoned wafl players but they also had several very inexperienced players.they played well but i think we played so badly that we contributed to them playing so well.can we get off the canvas i just don’t know, obviously robbo will be back next week.suspect hayden in for watts and maybe cooley and either simpson or merritt.
obviously the only good news was the ressies having a big win as well as the colts.great to see 4 of our colts were mentioned in a group of 18 as players to keep an eye on.
