This week against the Bogans

Another late start this week. Gee, it would be nice to have a Saturday arvo home game commencing at 2:30 but that won’t happen until 28 June according to the fixtures. It looks like Braut, Eaton and Corbett will be available after injury with Edwards getting through unscathed last weekend. Our injury list is starting to look manageable for a change.

We’ve been competitive in most of our games, but seem to fall off at various times enough to get beaten in the end. I’m not sure why that happens as it could be fitness, concentration, lack of skills or all of the above. Hopefully we can get the 4 points against a winless Swans and turn things around.

BC, at least last week we played the game out and I think actually won the last qtr, our first for the season, so maybe it’s between the ears rather than fitness. Not sure Eaton will come back in unless he’s used as a tall back, which really doesn’t suit his skill set, we will have plenty of talls in the forwards and ruck if both Wagons and Edwards play which could stretch Swans in that area. Our backs were better last week but the lack of height is an ongoing problem. Corbett needs to come back on the HBF, his speed and disposals are a real plus. If we can at least break even in the mids, I think our forwards could be the difference. Captain Clark had a much better game last week and needs to build on that, he’s the only real big mid we have to do the grunt work inside.

The Boguns will be absolutely desperate so we will need to be at 100%. Anyone know the forecast for Saturday night?

Fine and warm SS…27 degrees during the day apparently. I’d play Eaton down back for that added bit of height or even give him a run through the middle occasionally as at 195cm he’s the same size as Clark, has a pretty good tank and would be hard to match up on.

Wardmann was on the radio and he said Corbett was after the bye. Edwards to play again in 2s and Braut close to being back - may come straight in

Pity it wasnt an afternoon game, might attract a decent crowd in the sunny weather. As it is I can’t see too many people wanting to turn up for a 7.10pm game between two sides who arent setting the world on fire.
Having said that Subiaco seem to be playing a better brand of footy and should win comfortably. They really only need to kick 9 goals to take care of Swans

Mikeh, I think we’ll need to kick a few more than that given our backline are all shorties compared to other teams, but you have lost your full forward Kohlman? who’s been in pretty good form.

Yes I think he has kicked close to half the goals we have scored this season so we are going to have to find someone else to fill the gap

Same team as last week except for the ins and outs below. Interesting to see Cooley dropped and not even named as an emergency. I didn’t think he was our worst last week and was our best the game before. Must be something going on in the background possibly around discipline…not sure really.

Swans missing plenty out of their best 22, so if we don’t win this one then we really are stuffed.

Ins: Cade ABALA, Corey BELLOUARD, Ky FRANCESCHINI
Outs: Benjamin GOLDING, Lachlan HENDERSON, Jack COOLEY

BC what can you tell me about Cade Abala?

Not a whole lot SS. Small forward who transferred from Souths at the start of last year from memory and originally came from Darwin. He hasn’t actually set the world on fire in the ressies this season, so a bit of a smokey for mine.

This will be his second game after he was concussed early against WC, at least he has a 100% record! Doesn’t get a lot of the ball , but is a goal kicker in the ressies . Hopefully he gets a go at it this week.

Embarrassing. That’s all I’ve got to say.

I believe the crowd was almost non existent for this match. That experiment seems to be failing. Was a good day with the weather and the evening would not have been too cold. If it had been the big soccer game or basketball match, the crowd would have flocked there.

Not much to take it of that one. Players were told at 3/4 time to not look so glum. I enjoyed that. The new light show was a novelty, except a Swans shit stirrer in the club rooms kept shouting, where is our light show?

Apparently, the East perth rooms have asbestos. To be fair, it was an entertaining night in our rooms with both set of fans together. Though some people were getting really pissed off.

Balance of the team seemed wrong. We tried to introduce pace and play on a lot but seemed to lose touch with our opponents. Our pacy youngsters can’t tackle it compete physically.
Swans got guys free all the time.
Golding was very good in the reserves. I know he’s slow but I prefer his strong marking, tackling, and good handballs. Maybe he could play full forward or centre half forward.

That seems a bit weird since we have good tall forwards already, but just trying to work out how you get him into the team.

The reserves had a good win. Entertaining.

Can’t play a quick style when you are slow af and keep turning it over, loose men everywhere. Poor coaching indeed!

They looked like they weren’t even trying, they couldn’t give a shit. Swans are injury ravaged, then lost two more good players during the match, Trew who was looking ominous went down early in Q2.

With the exception of Clark our mids are a joke, reserves standard.

We are a fucking rabble

I see Jack Cooley played reserves yesterday. Has he stormed out yet?

That’s probably on the cards Ted.
Don’t know why he was dropped tbh. Must be something going on there

I thoughts Swans were bad. Subi have stooped to a level not seen since the early days of Peel in the comp. What has happened to this great club?
I honestly believe North Beach and CBC in the A Grade Ammos would beat them at the moment.

No need to look any further than the points cap

Last year finished a poor 7th place with only 6 wins.
Lost a lot this year and only replaced Sokol, with mr delusional instead pinning his hopes on injury prone players who missed all/most of last year…predictably that is working out well.

There’s a start for you mroddson
