[quote=“DG post=231513 userid=857”]The wafl website yes Freeze, but not sure about the club website as Foley is not on it but Clark is

That’s a good point DG. It looks like the club has updated the current playing list only in the last couple of days and Clark is on it as you say. I’m hoping it indicates that he’s re-signed with us. Foley is on the WAFL website as a Subi player but not on the club’s which could mean he’s still weighing up his options.
Very well said BC about Aaron Heal.
Yes, he was always retiring at the end of this year as he is very busy with his engineering job and has to fly away at times which is why he missed the odd game both last year and this.. He strongly wanted to get his life membership with Subi which is why he played on again this year.
I spoke to him after they chaired him off the ground when we bowed out at Rushton and thanked him for being such a wonderful player for us and a big factor in our premierships. He was always very approachable and easy to chat to at the club
Thanks Aaron!!!.
We haven’t had much luck with traffic accidents over the years, Fathers broke his ankle in one, young McGowen paraplegic from one. Let’s hope we see Giro again in a Lions jumper, unlike the outcome for the other two

Rod Newton and Merv Screaigh both killed. Rotten luck for Giro though. We seem to have had a few knees lately with Hayden, Lockyer, young Evitt, Koby Fullgrabe and now Giro.
Yes such bad luck for Giro and a massive hole to fill for the club, Giro was one of the few on our list that had genuine pace. All the more important to make sure we get Greg Clarke back. Not the same sort of player but a top shelf mid.
Luke Foley is now on our website list too, so looks like he and Clark are on there by default at this stage. If that’s the case should Menegola be on there also?
James Sullivan from swans colts also on the list.
DD I think you are correct re Mayo
Word is with Menegola that he has retired altogether from football due to his injuries and past concussion issues.
Terrible news about Giro especially when it wasn’t even done during the risks inherent in a footy game. He’s one of our few players with the ability to break lines with his pace and tank.
Hopefully Foley, like Clarke, is definitely back with the Lions as he would be a nice replacement for Heal. Who knows, he might also be able to play in another position free from being designated as purely a defender by WCE.
Let’s hope Kyron Hayden can come back well from his ACL injury during pre-season this year to add more midfield strength and grit because we definitely get shown up in that area when we play EF with their hard-nosed terriers like Joyce, Murdock etc. .
I also hope we can find a quick dangerous small goal-kicking forward from somewhere as whilst Faraone and Robbins have their moments, they just disappear from games too often for mine which is why they’re always in and out of the side.
[quote=“Senior Seagull post=231945 userid=922”]So Greg Clark is definitely back at the Den? No mention of Zac Clarke retiring so far, nothing mentioned in todays newsletter from the club.

Yes SS…I thought if he’d agreed to come back there would have been something in the newsletter and with Foley as well.
Maybe they’re waiting for the draft just in case either or both get redrafted.
