Pretty sure East Perth showed, if the Aligned AFL club gets hit by injuries then the WAFL aligned clubs are going to be tested by there depth, and both AFL clubs have injury problems right now - or were West Perth just that good
When you look at the whole Peel experiment you gotta say its been a dismal failure even after all the money the WAFC has thrown at them. The entire club has not won a game this year through all three grades and each sits at or near the bottom. When will the powers that be bite the bullet and put all of us out of our Peel misery?
Not only the depth that will cause problems for both teams, it’s the amount of changes. Hard to win after making 5 or more changes to the team, no matter who it is coming in. Those two teams will have a few games where they get affected by injuries to both the AFL team and WAFL team.
Even this week Simpson said they are expecting 4 or 5 back so 4 or 5 will rop back to WAFL and East Perth are going to be unsettled again.
Bo hoo ! F@ck the Ferals, they made their bed and they now have to lay in it, no sympathy from me ! Not only did they bend over the other G7 clubs, they also are bringing this great W.A comp into disrepute. I hope Subi smash them…
Don’t know about that,i think they will be stronger this week.
4 players to probably get a recall didnt play for East Perth last week,Rosa,Glass,Shuey and Masten so the 4 to make way will only bolster the East Perth line-up this week!
Peel still to win a game in any grade this year: League 0:4; Reserves 0:4; and Colts 0:4. The alignment is certainly working for Peel. They have number of very tall players but lack quality midfield players. Thought Silvagni, Jones and Sheridan were amongst their best.
you could put Hawthorn in Peel jumpers and they would lose.
never seen a more inept organization in my life.
been a detriment to footy down there, not a growth.
the comp has never recovered since their inception, and never will.
with the failures since day one, they get this cash injection and the use of every available Fremantle player, yet every grade is still to win a game !!!
I find Peels performance totally unphanthonable this year, I would of thought they would of very least won a couple of games with the massive injection of AFL players and recent financial injection,
Yet they have been as bad as ever, I mean as you say , you could not write a script that bad,
Btw if I was a dockers fan I’d be pretty bloody concerned at the player stocks in their reserves team with its performance thus far,
S&S,yeah I am concerned by what seems to be the lack of depth for sure. But what I will say is that the majority of players playing for Peel from Fremantle are still only juniors. There is no way that they could hold up a struggling side like Peel with out assistance.
Taberner has played I think now 5 or 6 games at AFL level.Maybe 2o WAFL games.
Michael Apeness, maybe 4 games at WAFL level. No AFL games.
Jacob Ballard,maybe 5 WAFL games.No AFL games.
Brady Grey,Maybe 5 WAFL games.N AFL games.
Tom Vandeluer,Maybe 5 WAFL games.No AFL games.
Michael Wood,I know has played WAFL when he was associated with Subiaco ,but I have no idea how many he played. Not even sure he held down a regular spot at Subi.No AFL games.
Alex Pearce,Yet to play I believe.
Others who are supposed to be holding this side up are mostly recoving players.Players like Griffen,Morabito,Bradley.Thes will be added to as gumbleton comes back.
A player like Sylvia I would have expected more from but he was behind the eight ball in fitness when he came here but no excuse ,that is his own fault.
Players like Sutcliffe,Sheridan,Crozier,Simpson(when he gets to play),Smith,Hannath,Moller have played a minimal number of WAFL games. Some have played some games.
Some of these kids would struggle to be paying for most WAFL clubs and yet everyone expects these players to carry a side that has never ever had success.
I think that a lot of people expect a lot from a bunch of inexperienced kids.
Of the Fremantle players down at Peel I think only Silvagni has played enough senior games to be of service, and yes he has played well for Peel.
I think some need to look further than the fact that these kids are on an AFL list.Look at some of the supposed new players at some other clubs in the AFL and you will find they have been att heir respective clubs for over six years.
I think you need to look deeper and see that these kids can not and will not be the saviour of the club. Not because they don’t want to be but because there are just too many of them in one side.
Blame the WAFC or WAFL for allowing the two AFL clubs to take over the two WAFL sides but please don’t blame the young players at Peel for the failure.
