I watched a bit of the Vic v Tassie match…the pitch was as green as a leprechaun on March 17th…pretty sure back in the 90’s when you needed a 45 + FC ave to get a test gig, the pitches were never as green as they are of late. What was the WA / Qld pitch like…as green?

Since making his Test debut his batting has gone backwards with these ridiculous shot selections eg poor switch hits!
With a very thin batting line up and after making a start, that T20 garbage needed to be shelved and proper cricket shots played.
And finally everyone has worked out Connolly has a weakness against spin, even part timer Renshaw!
Continual Irresponsible Batting like that,wouldn’t get anyone in Teams I would pick in 4 and 5 day Cricket.
But that seems to be hunky dory by the Coaching and Selection Staff these days,…..
Good to see Big Albert amongst the wickets on debut…seems like both batting lineups are enjoying the spoils of another bowler friendly pitch…is it the pitch though…or the lack of batting temperament and technique? Seems to be contaigous…not only in Qld, but all round Aust.
It’s just that our Batting is generally the WORST of a Bad Bunch!
My conspiracy theory here is because shield games no longer draw crowds, and they cost money because they are at good cricket grounds states want quick games to not have to pay rent and everything else that goes with 4 days of cricket.
Finish the game in 2 or even 3 days and the state saves a lot of money
Ingles batting may be poor but his catches of Marnus and Uzzie down the leg side are why good keepers are so important to sides
If Batsmen cut our Crap 20/20 Shots,it might help their Aggregates and Average somewhat.

I really want to see Fanny get that maiden tonne tomorrow. He deserves it. Been in great form. WA cricket can’t let this bloke and other young batsmen who might be getting frustrated with the logjam walk at season’s end.

Fanning is originally from NSW and came over here for more opportunities. So that in itself could be a problem,
