Second Test v England

Sam’s still young Freeze.

Time’s on his side and he’s starting to get some good time and scores racked up.

Off to England next Ashes Tour Away,…at least in the Squad.

A few of the boys left plenty of runs out there. So many got going, no ton, so far.
Poms dropped 5. Poms of old?
Disappointed with Green. All set, big score beckons and a brain fade.

Green like Mitch Marsh before him is turning out to be a bit of a disappointment at Test level.
That dismissal would be laughed at in 5th grade at Maylands sheesh!

Must have thought he was at Shearn Memorial Oval, batting at the Eastern End in the afternoon Sun,Bease?

Crazy days cricket again. Nearly 400 runs in 75 overs for 7 wickets. WIth the exception of Archer, the rest of the England bowling attack were slinging down garbage but the problem was that the Australian batsmen were gifting their wickets to this stuff. I would say Inglis and Weatherald were undone by good balls, the rest were just very poor shots, in the case of Green, a horrendous shot. From 3- 291 and England out of the game, Australia kindly lost 3 wickets in the last hour and a half to let England back into it. Mind you it could have been worse if Carey had been taken first ball and 3 other catches were taken. Have batsmen forgotten how to dig in, absorb pressure and play bowling on its merits rather than trying to thrash everything?? Seems like only Root understands this.
Game plan for Australia tomorrow will be to try and bat for as long as possible, try and extend the lead to around 100 while putting more Kilometres in the legs of the already weary English bowlers. Then ideally have a near new ball for Starc in the twilight hours.
On the other hand if England can remove the last 4 Australian wickets within an hour, they will be right back in it as Australia will be batting last on a wearing pitch

Have to bat till almost first meal break Mike. Bowl them until their legs are stumps. They are already half way broken.

Ponting kept saying how he couldn’t understand why Australia weren’t digging in, keep the pomms out there for as long as possible and build up a 150+ lead, but some dumb stuff intervened and if the pomms could have grabbed their balls a bit tighter, it would be a very different situation … catches win matches they say.

Well, they can today if Carey gets support from the Tail, albeit mainly Neser and Starc.

They can either build the lead up to 150 - 200, Runs,or the Poms could keep it down to 50 - 75.

I think the Aussie batsmen may have got caught up in the bazball mayham and seem to want to score at a rate similar to the poms. I don’t understand why Cam Green was stepping away from the stumps and trying to play cross bat shots when his strength is down the ground. Let the poms waste their energy bowling short stuff and just let it go

Totally agree.
Even Smith looked like a bit of a brain fade after losing Green. But, a sensational catch.

Now if Lyon had of come out to bat with the protection Boland is wearing he would have played a bigger role in Perth and be playing in this test. Left arm guard and padding just above the trousers.

England have the job ahead of them
Dropped catches has them 100 behind
The wicket looks like a 300+ total is gettable in the last bat.
If the wicket will take spin.We dont have one and the poms wont bowl there one.

19 overs with the new ball, I don’t remember the Poms getting one ball over 140.
They look dejected.

These lower order boys making Green look decidedly unnecessary
and pretty incompetent
even the keeper has a better average
Boland has lasted longer
we’d have been 300 or more ahead if dimwit hadn’t just given his wicket to them

A lot different time and situation.
Full credit to the tail. But an unfair assessment.
Watching the Poms bowl, I think Carse is a level above the rest. He has bent his back every time he had a spell. Atkinson looked like he was just pie tossing the ball at below 135.
177 lead, now to see hos the Aussies attack the Poms batsmen.

Did i just read someone question Green bahaha he’d be one of the first picked in this Australian side, even if his back didn’t come good and he wasn’t able to bowl.

unfortunately I’ve had to watch that ridiculous dismissal too many times already
underperformer pretty much every game
lucky for us the tail wagged both sides

Carse deserved a 5 wicket haul.
Really bent his back all bowling innings
Recon he would would be a good bowler on thoes flat ,asian wickets. If he can reverse swing the older red ball.

Got to stop falling over on the pitch though, lest he do himself an injury.Him and Atkinson.
