On Perth website the squads for the first scratch matches on Saturday.
League… 23 players named, including 10 who, IMO, would perhaps not be in our best 22.
Not included, amongst others, are Leyendekers, Eyres, Reimers, Billings, Irons, Jacobs, Leeson, Ali Smith.
Ressies…includes a lot of names I am not familiar with. Perhaps some are up from colts.
It seems strange to me that so many first team players are not listed to play.
In relation to Joel Leeson I heard last week that he has left the club. I have no reason to doubt the source that told me; however I would wait for official confirmation of the senior squad by the Club before marking Joel down as a definite loss. If confirmed, it is a loss, I think Joel had a fair bit of natural talent and was nearing the stage of his career to hopefully fulfill it.
Other than that I’m not disappointed with the listed squads for this Saturday. I understand that as at last week there was still some lads that needed to be culled from those training because our numbers are to high; a healthy position for the club (not for the lads to be cut and I hope they persist with their footy). I reckon quite a few of the new faces are going to be given a chance to show what they’ve got. I’m looking forward to Saturday and putting faces to allot of these new names. I reckon a few of them are last years colts boys. Great to finally see the cobwebs dusted off and Go the Dees; God willing we might surprise a few punters this year!!
And the relevance is BTB ???
There is not a Perth supporter who has forgotten that game but there are many who have moved on rather than dwell in the past.
I remember you boys on WAFLonline bitching for the whole season about that loss to SF…didn’t the ball bounce the wrong way in the goal square, players were getting heat exhaustion etc etc etc etc etc etc etc …nothing wrong with BTB recalling a few nostalgic memories is there boys?
Ha ha I love the Peel comment to DF…considering PFC ruck future appears dependant on a few ex Peel boys stepping up!!..I hear Chad Sandilands maybe in line for some league footy this year…hopefully he plays when his big brother is easing back to fitness for EF in the WAFL…geez talk about lambs to the slaughter!!
The relevance is smoker it show complete lack of respect, which is all PFC is really good AT !!! Of the 3 games played last year the demons won ONE!!! :woohoo:
BTB, I would rather focus on the total lack of respect PFC receives from other clubs and from individuals like your good self and see my club turning that all around and placing us in a position where respect is demanded and received.
A lot of work to do ??? Yes, of course, but we were there once and we can return.
With respect, I still maintain your reference to one particular game has no relevance to a topic discussing a player squad for a pre=season scratch match.
Who’ s fault is that smoker, certainly not mine. Respect in my book is earnt and not handed around like lollies.
The relevance was to the comment (it is only South’s) . Smoker great to see a few names on the list that I have not seen before. K.Ransted and D. White any news on where they came from, are they ruck man, backs, forwards or mids. How many points will they cost ? :woohoo:
I was at that game against Souths; what a crazy match.
The best part was all the flog Dogs fans had already left around me. They missed out on a pretty crazy last quarter of footy!
Funnily enough my mate suggested we leave at 3/4 time to get home early, but I said we should stay because “The game isn’t over, mate. We could lose this!”
Looking forward to Monday. From the team put up you would have to say they would struggle to beat a quality Ametuer A team. The 2s does not look much better, am hoping there is more to this list!!! : :woohoo:
BTB, you have not read my post properly… or should I say you have not correctly comprehended it.
Did I not say that PFC must turn things around and put itself in a position to demand respect? That means PFC has to earn that respect. We have a lot of work to do to achieve that and that is the challenge the club has. It wont be easy but it can be done.
As for Ransted and White,IMHO, there is no certainty whatever that they will be in the final squad nor play any major role in the senior side for 2013. Having said that, I have no problem with them giving it a go and doing a pre-season with the club.
Why are you looking forward to Monday?? Starting work at last??
