Is that time of the year again…
The Sandover Medal count is on soon.
Hard to forecast a winner.
One would think the medal recipient would come out of one the top 3 teams.
Good question wag. Horsley was on fire for the first 2/3rds of the season but then guys like Phelan, Delahunty, Deluca, Zac Clarke were all very prominent and will probably take votes off him. Nelson and Black from WP will be right up there, Bolton at Claremont threw up some big numbers…not sure who else. I’ll probably stick with Horsley as I think he did enough early but also think the margin will tighten as voting gets further into the season.
Noticed in all Perth’s matches this season, Brad Colledge was more likely than not of appearing in the best players list. Can expect him to poll well too.
West Perth’s Black, Nelson and Strijk will be right up there.
Subiaco have had an outstanding season. I probably won’t live long enough to see the record broken again. One could probably throw a blanket over most the team to poll well.
Three or four South Fremantle players have had a great season too.
The count is going to be interesting on Monday.
Lachlan Delahunty (S) or Corey Gault (SD)
Smokey: Marlion Pickett (SF)
Bolter: Cody Leggett (P)
Cody won’t win the Sandover but should be an investigation if he doesn’t win Goal of the Year with his monster from the centre circle in round one.
Horsley or Pickett

Michael Sinclair will poll best for the Mighty Demons

Reckon young SD colt Bain 100m dash and goal will pip Cody’s long range pearler DD…
Surely Subi will take votes off each other…Pickett from SF seems like a good bet…also Colledge from Perth seemed to be a regular in the best this year…and Perth won more games too…Hampton will be EF highest voter getter with 3 I reckon…LOL
Horlsey or Black for me.
Strijk a smokey for me.
If Gaulty happened to get up it would make the WAFL team of the year look like a bigger joke as he wasnt in it, only one SD player named as an emergency - Jessie Turner from a side top 4 most of the season, Notte a State regular should have been one of the first picked too
$U- Kyal Horsley (Delahunty, Clarke, Litherland)
WP- Aaron Black (Nelson, Meadows, Strijk)
SF- Marlion Pickett (Schloithe, Higgins, Suban)
CL- Jye Bolton (Mitchell, Hardisty, Lee)
EP- Patrick McGinnity (Sheed, McInnes, Watson)
PH- Michael Sinclair (Yeo, Leggett, Byrne)
FD- Danyle Pearce (Bell, Howlett, Hughes)
SD- Corey Gault (Notte, Riggio, Turner)
EF- George Hampson (Marsh, Eardley, Schofield)
Cody won’t win the Sandover but should be an investigation if he doesn’t win Goal of the Year with his monster from the centre circle in round one.

Ineligible anyway
Kyal Horsley clearly the stand out player in 2018 for mine.
Winner Horsley
Runner up Black
Roughie Pearce
1St .Marlion Pickett.Allways looks classy with the footy in his hands.
2.Corey Gault. just a star week in and out.Fwd or ruck.
3rd.Michael Sinclair when Perth where up and going in 18.This bloke was there quarterback. He might be BOG In most of Perths wins.
Well spotted gtrxuone re Sinkers, he was clearly PFC’s best for several weeks in a row but can’t see him having the weight of numbers. Things Horsely does really stand out so I don’t see it being a situation of other players nicking votes off him in Subi games…wins in a hand canter.

The 3rd time Perth played Swans he got the footy 40 times from centre half back. That one a 5 votes for him.
For mine it’s only fitting that a Horse should be first past the post and hopefully in a canter. B)
It’s broadcast on 91.3 Sport FM for those that want to listen.
Who won the colts and reserves F&B?..aren’t they decided sooner?
