Maybe Beas, ill settle for a draw…
Great game of footy today. Thought you blokes were very good just ran out of legs in the last 15 mins. You creamed us at the stoppages you just couldn’t put it on the score board. It’s foreign for a Dees supporter to see us run games out like that so you can consider yourselves unlucky
whilst disappointing to lose, great to see Subi blood youngsters like Sheed, Bogensperger, Madut and Wood…always exciting to see young blood get a go…good for the future to!
Those young blokes gave it a real shot mate. Maybe all four were in the best 6-8. Once again blokes who have played 20-100 ordinary.
Exactly right LH. It was refreshing to watch these new players have a real crack. How did those that were dropped go in the ressies? I can only see the stats. Buddy must have got injured, only 2 disposals?
Herring about 8 stats but no goals. Did he play in defence?
League, I thought Moore looked a bit out of his depth. Worthington continues to disappoint with poor positioning.
Once again - I thought Parker was brilliant.
It was a terrific game of footy though. Lots of swings in momentum. Perth looked the real deal to me. To carry on with the relentless pressure when short of players was really something. I’m sure they had anextra player out there in the last quarter - maybe thats why there was only one on the bench…
I didnt think Moore was too bad yeah sure he made a couple of mistakes but at least he had a crack unlike Daye who looked half arsed to me. If so i think its a good move Herring as a back because hes not up to it as a fwd.
Only saw last part of the ressies and Herring and Picket were both in the forward line at that stage. Perth over ran us in the last quarter which was a preview of what happened in the league game as well.
Disappointing to fall away in the last quarter but also liked what I saw from the youngsters who were given a go this week. Loved the ruck work and centre clearance work involving Madut, Sheed and Bogansperger .
Some hope there for the future. Also Wood definitely didn’t look out of place in the side.
We looked good when we were able to sustain pressure on Perth but let them off the hook too often.
Hopefully we keep promoting those youngsters that do enough to deserve a game.
Like the look of Madut, very athletic and good skills, still learning the game.
May well get picked up in this year’s draft, unfortunately for Subi.
Pickett and Herring both played deep in attack and had no influence sadly, nor did Phillips. Martin and Davey were ok-ish. But a number of young blokes played well but will get on to that in another thread.
Anyway, here are the combined media/club/supporters votes for the league.

I think you may have been basing your tip on circa 2007 form?
What a great game of footy - Subi played well but Perth always looked more polished and took their chances. That was the best game I’ve been to this year.Subi were in the game except for the last half of the final quarter when they pulled away. Perths forwards were too smart.
Read the sunday times what a crap rap up of this and the other WAFL games.
It’s not very often I come away from a lost game when I can see so many positives.
I always thought Subi would give the Demons a shake (I even tipped Subi which I don’t do regularly) Great to see so many youngsters have a red hot crack - All looked up to the standard and Bogensburger especially. Subi had six players 20 or under so the future is bright. I like Deluca he has a bit of mongrel in him and showed courage coming back from a bad ankle. Young Moore can play but must learn that he can’t take on the opposition in league like he use to - The players are much smarter than the under age comps. He’s been caught out a few times now and got done twice in this game. Dom Sheed played well and will learn he must provide a contest in the backline when he failed to spoil - gifting a Demons goal. The good part is you could see he was dissappionted with himself re his lack of judgement and decission making but he grit his teeth and got back into it. He is a classy player who knows how to find it. Mandut showed signs of the player he could eventually become and Woods did well getting 2 goals on debut.
Perth always had a player running close by the ball carrier to dish off the hands and Subi never shut this out of their game. For Perth I was most impressed with their cleaness of play - Their forwards always looked dangerous and their big men were good. Brett Hodge was sensational and had his own footy, liked Sketcher and Jacobs played well. Love the Haydn Busher Moustacha - Very Porn-star. Perth played very well as a team and had no passengers. The Smiths played well and Stack was given far too much latitude in the last half. All Perths players did well thats why I liked Subis game - we dished it up to them. Perths best was too good for us but it took their best to beat us.
For Subi I can’t beleive the pressure and tackling they put on Perth - It was great to see and I hope it continues. I did notice a few times up forward and deep in the backline Subi had two up and nobody down - This is simple footy and must be worked out. It cost us goals against and goals for.
I’m still worried for Kerr and Phelan - They aren’t playing well defensively.
If this continues they must surely have a rest in the two’s ??? Worthington to must concentrate the whole game - he seems to be too casual at times?
Daye must be given a chance to play up the ground - he’s no backman. I think he could be a match winner if we let him loose and be creative.
I thought we played well but lacked the class of Perth but at least we made them work for the points and they knew they were playing. I hope Waters gets a run in the league next up and Subi continue with the endeavour just polish up on the skills and decission making and we can win more than we loose.
Big chance against the Ducks if we play like we did yesterday.
Excellent report mate. A lot of positives. I think we did well. And it was great to see the colts win without their key forward (Wood) and key backman (Jackson), who was promoted to ressies and acquitted himself well. A lot of good things happening for sure.
I just wish we could have hung on the league. Was wanting to win that game more than just about any other over the last year.
Yep we worked our guts out - I felt for the boys but I think they gave it everything and as a supporter that’s all I ask of them. What a great game to be involved in first up for the young fellas - they all played realy well !!!
In the back of my mind I thought we may get run over in the last - Perth are a class act this year and their forward options and all round greater experience and polish showed through in the end.
The test is to see if we can back up that effort against the Swannies ???
I hope to be able to make it - If so i’ll see you there.
I don’t why you would sense that either Chopper.

I wasn’t too far off was I - We made you work for the win !!!
Well played anyway - You deserved it and played the better footy.
I agree Chopper Subi played well and I do like the look of your youngsters. I think Madut will get drafted he is a gifted athlete and will learn the game.
I thought our rucks did pretty well against McDougall & Madut with McDougall looking anything but underdone.
Proud of our boys who had to fight out the game with only 2 interchange in the second half. I certainly thought you could overrun us in the last quarter, but this is a different Perth side so I’m finding out.
Sensational wrap up Chop! Your spot on about the articles in the paper. Sometimes I get the impression they werent even at the game because the players they focus on were probably not really the best on the day? And the team that wins does not necessarily get the most coverage in the article?
Thanks for a good day we came away with the win but it was a great game of footy!
I tell ya what… The hit Rumble put on O’Sullivan would get him 6 weeks had that been a AFL Game. Run past the ball and ironed out with contact to the head leaving him concussed and out for the match. Bloody good hit for an olden days bump but not acceptable in today’s game. Doesn’t bother me too much but did put him out for the game
Was there a post match report or did it go through? I am sure theres good footage!
Don’t think there was a report but saw the highlights package today and there’s very good footage. I’m not saying he should get fried for it but he does run past the ball and put him into next week. In fairness it was well within the 5 meters, almost identical to the Kelly hit on Goddard. But as I said he was concussed there must have been contact to the head. But no body gets rubbed out in WAFL games anymore so no point really going on about it. As Perth supporters we certainly can’t complain
