We will have to play at our very best if we are to be a chance of beating $ubi.$ubi have a few handy ins and will be desperate for a win.We have a few handy ins as well but Schumacher will be a loss and we can’t afford play a bad quarter like we did last week.
Agreed, Frothy, I think it was a game that either side would’ve been unlucky to lose.
With seven goals and lots of stoppages in the last quarter, I thought there was still a minute or two - and not 5-10 seconds - to go after Subi hit the front with that final behind.
With nine goals between them, I think Ben Sokol and Brandon Matera proved the difference.
That said, Sebit Kuek and Nick Robertson shared seven majors, so both teams had forwards in form.
With next week being the state game, I have to stew on the “what ifs?” of the Royals’ one-point loss for another 14 bloody days!

Unfortunately we started slowly in a couple of quarters and couldn’t keep our pressure up long enough. We do have huge problem in our tall backs.. Week by week they are getting bags kicked against them.As much as i think we have improved from last year we need to improve a lot more especially as we will be playing most of the sides who should make the five.in the next month.
Well we beat top 4 teams Claremont and South last year with an inferior squad,so you would have to be a complete numbskull to think we’re incapable of doing it again.
Great last quarter by the reserves, 7 goals to climb over the Lions. Once again the slow start we are becoming renowned for looked like it was going to bite us but with players like Dittmar, Edwards, C Sparks and Mr North (the whipping boy) we overcame a good lions team. Have to make a special mention of Jed Edwards who played his best game since the reserves GF win. Dittmar and Nathan Regan look like they should be in the ones very soon. Harbour made a welcome return to the playing field and will be better for the run.
A slow and controlled fight back by the colts boys was a really great effort and should instill some serious confidence in the team. Jordan Baker was outstanding for us along with Mr Busslinger with great support from the whole team.
I think we as a club would be late for our own … given the way we start games.
[quote=“ROYAL 2019 post=219218 userid=1454”]Too many errors at this point. Hoping for a couple of big recruits next year. We might push for finals at that point.

I don’t know Royal, speaking to you before the Anzac day clash you actually thought it would be a flip of the coin match,so your judgement might be a little off at this point, but feel free to wait to play finals next year as i certainly won’t be.
I think we maybe a hair in front of Perth but not drastically Lucky. One game in isolation is irrelevant. If we had started 4/0 or 3/1 with our easy draw I would be a little more ebullient. Not a fan of these short seasons you lose a few in a row and your in trouble. If we beat Claremont away we are back in the hunt. You thought we would win every game so far so your 50 percent. I thought we would win the first two narrowly and lose the next two so that’s 100 percent.
Well if they flew Giro to Brisbane to be a pointless spectator with Angus Schumacher we’d be sitting on top of the ladder, instead of stewing over a 1 point loss against a near full strength Subiaco,so your way off unfortunately.
They seemed to have every answer regardless what we threw at them. Should be a good game against Claremont, if we win the game the players might dare to think of the F word.

Why on earth Royal did the W.Coast tossers take Schumacher a top up player, who has been our form midfielder, over there just to be an emergency, when they drop Dixon whose a player on their actual list, gets omitted which is an absolute joke.
Didn’t help losing him Lucky, his left foot can break the game open. I think we have been relatively untouched by covid and injury thus far. So I’m factoring in that we might have some compromised teams at some point.

I think most of the squad has already contracted it in the pre season.

We are on the same page R2019.If we are aspiring to be a top 5 side.this year. We have to beat nearly every team that finished above us last year.We failed against the sharks who seem to have improved and a subi side with still some premiership players missing. The fact that we couldn’t shows we need to improve a a lot..We turned over the ball too often on saturday and good sides seem to find ways to win close matches.I think we have improved from last year but i think we need to improve a lot to be a serious top 5 threat..The area which concerns me most is our key talls who are our achilles heel and none leave me with any confidence. It was something that was not addressed in our recruiting and we don’t have too many alternatives.

This time last year we were 0/4 with a percentage of 60,and now we are currently sitting 4th at 2/4 with a percentage of 120,defeated top5 side Swans, who just knocked off the Tigers, went within 1 point of defeating reigning premiers SUBI who were virtually full strength,so if was Royal2019 i would take it as an insult he shared any views with you,as you are clearly quite clueless.

We could not beat he reigning premiers with 7 missing premiership players. from last year. You see it as a achievement and i see it as a lost opportunity.
Well they must have had too many mids as well , which begs the question why he was sent over there in the first place, and i would have accepted the farcical decision if he had actually played
