Round 16,. C2

And there you go, just like that balla have three in a row. I knew something was in the air and it wasn’t love. I tipped them but unfortunately Viper had cott (but not with confidence). Belmont pushed piara to the edge only to fall short by ten points. Canning Vale getting the job done over basso. Valley oh valley were slightly up going into the last quarter only to let canning kick 7 goals to valleys two and stomp on home! The Kingsley and Gossy score line is scary.. have Gossy really given up and put the cue in the rack.

I think valley can make up for last week and hopefullyhave learned a little from the last quarter too. They a sure to bounce back to their best and knock off cott.

Valley by 6 goals

What a stunning last quarter effort from canning last week, will be full of confidence but perhaps missing those star Perth players. Kingsley on the other hand had a training drill last week and should be well rested. Kingsley by 3 goals

Belmont had some missed opportunities last week and now get a chance to take it out on the depleted Gossy side. I seen that Gossy had to forfeit there 3rds last week so numbers must not be good, let’s hope they can see out the season’s end and not let it slip to far away.

Belmont by 8 goals

Well I really wanted to have this as GOTR. But I’m not going too. I think balla go into this a favourites while although last time round basso got the win, everything has fallen into place at balla for the moment. Balla by 10 points

GOTR……. The only team so far to knock Piara off is Canning Vale. Can the do it again? And be Piara’s worst nightmare. Big Nelson was a problem last time as he bagged four, I’m sure Piara will be looking to him locked down. The small fast Piara mids will get in and under getting to work early I think will get the job done this time. Piara by 3 goals

Good luck everyone

What a big 3 weeks for Balla! Not sure what is in the water but wrong time of the year to get up and about. Valley kicked 7 in the 3rd to set up a nice little lead at 3/4 time then didn’t fire a shot in the last and let Canning kick 7. Same as last time they met. Canning have a hard run home playing Kingsley and Belmont compared to Valley who have just Canning Vale from the top 5 and I expect it will come down to the last game as to who makes finals.

Cottesloe Vs Valley - Cott need a win to stay out of relegation zone at this point. Valley have played some blistering football in recent weeks and some deplorable football. Roosters have to find a win but not sure it’ll be this week. Valley by 6 goals.

Canning Vs Kingsley - Kats are on fire at the moment and Canning will be pumped after a big come from behind win last week. This could well turn out to be game of the round. Kats by 4 goals for me.

Gosnells Vs Belmont - Statistically speaking Belmont are a chance to drop out of the 5 if they won’t win 2 of their last 3 but they are going well and I think they will win their last 3 and this week, will tear the Hawks a new one unfortunately. Hawks forfeited their 3rds and have to ensure in the next 3 weeks they play 2 games or thirds are gone for next year. Belmont by 20 goals.

Bassendean Vs Ballajura - Balla are up and about and will look forward to returning serve from the last game. Basso will think they’re a chance this week but very unlikely. Balla by 8 goals.

Piara Waters Vs Canning Vale - GOTR - This is going to be a rip snorter and could well be the 2 Grand Finalists. Canning Vale were very ordinary early in the season but have been on a roll since those first few rounds taking all before them and I think will be the team to beat in finals. Piara have a chance to put the Cougars in their place and remind them who the big dog is this year so get on down to watch this one as they go toe to toe. Cougars by a goal.

Good luck all and enjoy the frothies!

Have Ballajura done enough already to stave off relegation,or do they need to finish one rung higher on the Ladder?

I probably should have put that against Balla but I put it against Cott. Cott are in front by 1 game and percentage so fight for 9th is up but I think Cott will hold on at this point.

Could not believe it when I checked the results! WTF Ballajura! how could you burn me like that?? Bit shocked by the wins from the 2 ladder leaders to be honest. Going by recent results I expected both games to be much closer. Are the next 3 in the queue just making up places? Great way to stamp your authority leading in to finals!

Valley by 64 over Roosters, Kats by 63 over Tigers, Bombers by 92 over Hawks, Swans by 27 over Royals and Falcons by 43 over Cougars!

Great point viper. Is it a two horse race?

nah not yet … finals is when the good players step up and turn themselves in to hero’s. We will get some upsets in finals but I expect Piara to be one team in the GF

Be curious how many of this current Piara crop are from their successful colts program of the past few years.

While it’s becoming increasingly difficult to retain players through junior football and into colts, and many suburbs are dealing with ageing populations or cultures not as engaged with football, a strong relationship between junior and senior programs remains one of the surest ways to build sustained success.
