A big shock?

They broke another one

Just proves that even the best coaches can’t always turn pig shit into strawberry jam. No juniors coming through and no way to retain players or coaches has Perth destined for more years of pain which is something I don’t like seeing

Was he a good coach? yelling and screaming at players constantly doesnt make a good coach? Undersand needing to make them harder but they are no better than they were 2 years ago and have spent a lot of money to get to this point?

Wow didn’t see that coming but not entirely surprised. Appoint Mark Stone ASAP. Super impressed with him.

As loathe as I usually am to ask but my question is what is the real issue.

Is it the district, you had one really great in recent times so where has the talent gone, is it the club, it has long been said that the culture is or has been an issue, is it the players, attracting good players is hard for most clubs other than the richer ones, Swans seem to be able so where is the problem for your club.

It is a sad state of affairs for the WAFL and who needs to take action (not a redistribution, that is a band aid and flogging the same old dead horse) and what action can the club take.

Just align with West Coast already so we can’t!

At least we’re good at defeating something….coaches

Took the words out of my mouth Grump.
There are so many passionate Perth supporters on this website. In fact you could probably say that they keep it going pretty much. The WAFL needs a Perth Demons team that is competitive and challenging for finals. How is this going to happen?
I am disappointed that German didnt see out his contract. I thought he wasn’t a quitter and there were some signs he was making a difference. They have been blighted with injuries this year after a promising start. Maybe there were some personal issues involved in his decision.
The other thing that flashed through my mind is that South Fremantle will be looking for a new coach in 2025, Surely not?

watch this space

and just to place somewhat of a chrystal on this
Peter German first came over here as Mandurah’s coach
then he suddenly signed with Subiaco not all that long afterwards
coaches depart all the time it’s footy and this aint any different
and Perth couldn’t do any worse than give Todd Curley a call at the end of the season either
could they ?

If you want him, he’s all yours.

The press release said he’s going back to Melbourne, but if he winds up at SF, as Cess said, they’re welcome to him. I’ve been hearing for a while that he is very unpopular with the playing group, so this is no surprise. That said, it’s a bad look for the club. Another reason for people to say what a rabble we are. I wish I had a comeback.

Another one bites the Latho dust.

Any idea why that is Ted, too old school?

Pretty sure Monaghan shouted and screamed initially at EF to weed out the ones he didn’t think had a future…worked like a treat, allowing a core group to form, which Bill simply topped up with similar ilk individuals.

Perth has a core group to build around in Constable, Byrne, Clarke x 2, Schlensog, Avery & Taylor…all quality folk on and off the park…get Narkle & Hunter back, plus some quality recruits and blood some youngsters…Perth wont be far off…surprised German jumped before his contract finished…and especially with all Perth’s riches…

I’d add Edwards, Scoble, Coniglio, Sing, Davis to that and plenty coming through the Ressies and Colts. I too am surprised he walked.

Crucial now we sign Mark Stone for the next 2 or 3 years. I’ve been super impressed with him. Doubt Connor Sing will play again. Had a chat with Jaiden Hunter on Saturday. He’s told Essendon he’s going to take a year off. Needs back surgery which will take 6 months to recover from and is coming home to finish his electrical apprenticeship. Asked if he will play for us next year, he said maybe.

If you’re not enjoying yourself, why hang around. It might’ve been really bad …

Perth’s last quarter against Subi was not inspiring. Every other Wafl team, aside from West Coast, have run over Subi in the last quarter this year. Perth seemed to roll over meekly. Might have been the last straw.
