Same old story with Perth I’m afraid, I’d expect a player exodus is incoming
Perth’s last quarter against Subi was not inspiring. Every other Wafl team, aside from West Coast, have run over Subi in the last quarter this year. Perth seemed to roll over meekly. Might have been the last straw.
First time this year we have surrendered so meekly in the last qtr. Usually we fight it out. Maybe the players were making a statement and German read the tea leaves.

Anyway I hope to see significant changes to the line-up this week. Oscar H-B and Moore out along with Connor Sing (concussion) and Stubbs.

Quartermaine, Hill and Edwards in and I’d like to see Nyika John given a go maybe a replacement for Sing. Q for Stubbs, Hill for OHB and Moody for Moore.
You wish. You just put your hand in your pocket for the next East Fremantle GFM war cry.

I’d add Edwards, Scoble, Coniglio, Sing, Davis to that and plenty coming through the Ressies and Colts. I too am surprised he walked.
What’s coming through the colts apart from midgets? They are doing well considering we get slaughtered in the ruck every week due to no ruckmen. Time for the dopes at the commission to get off their slack corrupt arses and rip up the zones and distribute them evenly and fairly and stop looking after the princesses of the WAFL who’ve had it far too good for far too long.

KCEF, the whole point of German going was to avoid a player exodus. The fact is, we grossly overestimated German when he first came. He had been in the Ovens and Murray League, with his best years well behind him. Players are happy to train hard, but don’t appreciate getting berated and yelled at. Old timers, like most of us on this site, may say “toughen up”, but the reality is that German’s coaching style no longer resonates.
Crucial now we sign Mark Stone for the next 2 or 3 years. I’ve been super impressed with him. Doubt Connor Sing will play again. Had a chat with Jaiden Hunter on Saturday. He’s told Essendon he’s going to take a year off. Needs back surgery which will take 6 months to recover from and is coming home to finish his electrical apprenticeship. Asked if he will play for us next year, he said maybe.
If he’s going in for back surgery and it will take 6 months to recover from, I doubt that he’d be playing any football in 2025.

Any changes to the zones you won’t see any benefit for 5-10 years. And even then, there’s no guarantee that the players coming through will be any good. The WAFL might not have 5-10 years left in its current format.

We have Wesley, Trinity and Aquinas all in our zone. Let us have access to all the kids from those schools or at least 2/3 schools.

so he has manhandlesd a player earlier in the season & now throws a chair at a player
you sure he hasnt been sacked?

You left out the whiteboard

geez I remember Browny taking the Perth reserves side off mid-game because the umpires were shite
then grabbing a reporter’s microphone , ripping it to shite and subsequently telling him where it was going to be lodged if he didn’t get the fark out of his face

good on him for destroying the whiteboard too farken things are loaded with unfathomable modern dribble anyways

Obviously been a falling out along the line! Had he been undermined from within?
Perth were expected to do well last week against Subiaco, but their last quarter effort in that match could have been the last straw. They started this season good enough with 2 wins in a month, then the wheels fell off.
Coaches don’t quit with immediate effect for no reason. Going by reports German returning to Victoria and a stand in coach stepping into the role.

How many times did Brownie quit as coach of Souths only to be talked back? What did he do to get suspended but was allowed to coach from scaffolding on the roof of the clubrooms and lifted over the ground on a cherry picker so he could address the players at qtr and 3 qtr time? Must have been a hell of a big cherry picker and counter weights. ?

nah not much at all
told the WANFL (as it was known back then) that they were a pack of useless good for nothing fuckwits and that his left nut could run the game better
the coaches box stayed there for years too

I’ve kept out of this as Germo was very good for Subi but in my opinion, coaches don’t quit with 2 games left in the season to go back home. They get sacked with 2 games to go as there’s no downside for the club if said coach is not connecting with the players. Just my thoughts and could be wrong not being an insider at PFC.

Been a build up for some time I’d say and players decided they’d had enough. Cracks appeared at the 4th game against EP. Apparently said on 91.3 this morning that the players boycotted the player awards at the Broken Hill Hotel after the game. Can really go off German.

Anyway I appreciate he gave it a crack at a bottom of the ladder team with the best of intentions and has helped attract some of the best recruits at this club in decades. We need more and a new coach who can get the best out of them as well as the local talent.

Do we owe East Perth a new whiteboard or was it ours?

If he has manhandled a player, thrown a chair and destroyed a whiteboard, then I am not surprised.
Maybe, this is a blessing, if Mark Stone is appointed for next year.
He seems to come with plenty of experience at the highest level.
We will see if the players respond this week against SF,

Let’s not forget too, when he saw our gym he was horrified and said that’s not good enough which subsequently prompted the club to get off it’s arse and gut it, put in new flooring and paint and order a skip bin to throw out the rubbish equipment and buy new stuff. That’s a very poor reflection on those that are running the joint before German was appointed. So thanks Germo.

Same thing happened with the change rooms, ripped up carpet stuck to the floor with Gatorade and was dark and dingy. After new white paint and carpet the players were told no more Gatorade showers after a win. Not that that happens too often.

One of the posts of the season.

I’ll never forget that day when Browny marched out, ordered the reserves off, lifted Peter Murnane off the ground with a single handed strangle, then ripped the mic off the chord from the Channel Wrinkles reporter and dumped it in the red and black painted bin next to the players race.

And you are right about the whiteboard.

But as Ted said earlier, doesn’t work anymore.

We need to be grateful to Peter German. As DD says, he did raise standards. He knew what success looks like and he tried to make the change. Maybe struggled ultimately on the communication bit but raised the bar on a club that has lost touch with what competitive standards look like.
