Rapt to get a ticket and can’t wait to witness the event live. Hopefully it’s a sellout. I am curious to see if it’s a sellout will they add extra seats on the ground to give it a rectangular effect? When Barny announced the building of this new stadium he said it could be configured for rectangular sports so lets see it.
A bit of a shame it is clashing with the fed election (surely that can be delayed, lol) and something to do with Sydney’s Champions League commitments. That probably makes it hard for Sydneysiders to travel for a late Sunday game which probably means taking a sickie. Hopefully there are at least 15,000 Sydney fans there because they know how to make a lot of noise in their sky blue kits. Hopefully both sides and the crowd really put on a show.
Yep…got mine too DD. The election will be done and dusted by 4:30 Sunday so wouldn’t worry too much about that although the prospect of having Shortarse as PM will almost put me off my beer at the game that’s for sure. I just went back on line and they’re selling tickets for the top tier now so it must be filling up. I don’t think it’ll be a complete sell out but reckon somewhere around 50k would be a good result.
Yes BH…the western end by the looks of it. I reckon they should build a temporary grandstand for the Shed supporters and put if right behind the soccer goals…that would give Sydney the shits.
Will there be a Shed End section at the Perth Stadium for the GF?

Yes shaded in light pink at one end behind the goals BH as BC said. The problem is I think they will be a fair way back unless they position the pitch closer toward that end but that would be unfair for spectators at the other end of ground.
I want to hear the Minister for Sport bailed up along with the stadium management to answer why this stadium isn’t being configured for a rectangular sport as the former Premier said it would be. It’s OUR MONEY that has built it, I think we are entitled to know the answer. Were we told a load of BS by Barnett?
BC if Bill Shock gets up I’m expecting him to make an executive decision by midnight Saturday to implement his “living wage” so get ready to be slugged extra for your scooner or midi or whatever fricken size beer they give us at Optus Stadium.
Sage wasn’t too happy about the game being shifted from HBF park as Glory have given up home ground advantage really. I guess it had to be moved to accommodate the crowd that would want to attend.

Yep got mine as well, thought the pricing was a bit all over the place, looked last night and only obstructed view left ( a lot more than normal) from what I could tell, I agree about 48,000 not a total sell out.

Just said on the radio Baz.They have sold 45,000 tickets already.
Only level 5 tickets left from what I can see online. I reckon they should discount all remaining tickets so we get a full house.

yeah , ive sort of tracked it and noticed the prices became quite movable on demand, over a few days, also I registered for the Football Family presale and it never worked, think A league needs to lift its game.
When I first opened the search for tickets bang on 2pm yesterday there was either behind the goals seats or nose bleed section but once I changed my search from 2 to 1 seat there were platinum seats available on level 1 around the centre of the ground. I was able to snap up one of those.
It was my first time at Optus Stadium on Saturday and I was about 4 or 5 rows from the back of the top tier and I was happy I took my binoculars. I used them a lot. Having said that I was super impressed with the giant screens at either end of the ground. It’s basically like watching the game at home without the commentary but you are there. And on the lower levels there are small screens everywhere. Got to say I was impressed but even though the seats are very comfortable I thought the distance between each row was no different to Subi. You basically have to stand up or swivel 180 to let people pass. Not sure if that is just unique to the top tier because the pitch is very accute. I’ll be curious to see if the space between rows is greater on level one.
The choice of food and beverage is absolutely brilliant and the room on the concourse behind the seats is fantastic and the ability to lookout from the stadium and see the Swan River or the city is just brilliant.
I did something similar DD. I started searching at 2pm for 3 seats and it kept on throwing up level 1. I rejected those seats about half a dozen times over 5 minutes then it came back with level 2 seats just off centre in section 214. I snapped them up as they will give a good view across the pitch and should be able to take in both ends of the park. Another big bonus is the bus travel included. I live in Attadale so can park at Legends Bar just off Canning Hwy and get the events bus to and from the stadium then have a few celebratory/“commiseratory” beers afterwards…brilliant!!
Choo choo train for me BC. Just checked myself and only back rows on the top deck or front row behind the goals available so must be getting close to being a sellout.
I just had a look online and it appears there’s the last 6 or 8 rows of seats left on level 5 on the north and south sides only. It probably won’t be a total sellout but will come pretty close.
The media will probably start giving away free tickets on the weekend BC and if it was up to me I would put the remaining tickets up for $20 on Sunday to make it a full house. What a, sight that will be and hopefully help the Glory get over the line.
Just having a look online it appears there’s a couple of private boxes on the south side that haven’t sold and the tickets have been opened up to the public. Prime viewing spots for $135 each seat…if I hadn’t already bought mine I’d jump at it.
A tough way to lose a GF in a penalty shootout after being 0-0 at full time and after extra time.
But gee that Santalab penalty kick was as weak as water to be the ultimate decider.
Called a Panenka kick BH, absolutely ridiculous to do it when your behind in GF penalty shootout. 2 points from me Keogh should have started. And the ground was atrocious and stopped Castro and Kilkenny from playing properly.
Tough on Glory to lose like that but once it gets to penalties its a bit of a lottery. Having said that it was a poor penalty by Keogh and WTF was Santalab thinking?? I thought Castro should have been up early. I was surprised to see the Sydney FC goal keeper jumping all around like a gorilla while the players were trying to take their penalty shot, didnt think they were allowed to do that. Sydney were probably deprived of a legitimate goal with that VAR decision so maybe it was justice anyway.
Fantastic crowd of 56k+ . Unfortunately the game didnt live up to the atmosphere.
