Perth Glory take-over deal

Surely this thing is dead in the water and Sage has to walk away from it? It’s sounding more and more dodgy by the day and this guy behind it looks and sounds like a pimp.

cannot see FFA allowing it TBH

Everything is still up in the air. Apparently the monetary side of the bussiness will be separate from the sporting side. Not sure how that will work. If the deal goes ahead, Sage to retain 20%. Apparently he stays on as chairman of the Glory and of several other clubs it’s been said.
This story has gone quiet all of a sudden. Obviously the deal is still in bumpy waters.

Gareth Parker revealed this mob is being sued for 2.2 Million in UK Courts. And is a convicted Fraudster…

Funny As…

Tony Sage has been suspiciously quiet since his 3 day visit with this dude, though maybe he’s extended his stay and met with other potential suitors?

Goodness knows mate, but he is shonky as well.

More likely in hiding DD after virtually selling the club to this Pommy wannabe gangster!

6PR this afternoon was saying he’s gone by a different name in the past and served 22 months in stir.

Looks dead in the water now. Another dodgy con artist revealed as a third party involved in the deal. It’s looking very embarrassing for Tony Sage right now. I wonder what impact the Corona virus might also be impacting his business interests?

Officially kaputski. Tony Sage has advised the FFA of the bleeding obvious. That still leaves a cloud over the future of Perth Glory.

The deal has fallen over.
I wonder if the FFA put pressure on Sage not to sell after the bad reports surfaced of the crypto company?
Going to be interesting to hear Glory’s media statement.

Yep just like I thought, all fallen over.

6pr did a good job.

According to the latest, Sage is on track to sell his majority stake. The European buyer is very interested and talks are continuing. It’s been said most of Sage’s share will be acquired by the interested party at the end of the current season.
Sage to stay in a limited capacity. Be interesting to watch this over the next few months.

They need something to change because they just can’t compete with the big eastern states clubs in Sydney and Melbourne. Another heart breaking loss on the weekend. I watched the mini match last night after knowing the result.

After a brilliant long range goal from Adam Tagget in the 95th minute with 7 minutes of extra time I thought how the hell do they lose this? Surely all 11 players just crowd the goal keeper but no they had holes everywhere in their defence and some 17 year old Nigerian blasts one past the keeper and it goes in off the far post. FMD

So Ruben Zadkovic has quit which really surprises me, I thought he was building something with a promising young squad. Glory are at the crossroads. Sage desperately wants out and Central Coast Mariners who have regularly been our whipping boys have just won the championship with a resounding 6-1 result over the dominant Melbourne City who won the Premiers Plate.

That puts the spotlight back in Glory but I do have sympathy for Sage and the team who have been shafted by Covid and the state government not allowing them to play at HBF Park for most of the season.

Where to from here?

With the news today Sage has quit control of Perth Glory, apparently an advisory company is to take over the management. it has been said the licence to handed to the owners in approx 10 weeks.

Mate he was losing about a million a year on them, and with playing at Macedinia Park with just 3000 would of been a huge hit.

Could be back to the future with original Perth Glory owner and barbecue chook king Nick Tana showing interest. Apparently has been busy kicking a few goals of his own since and has become WA’s biggest horticulturist through the Sumich Group. Got plenty of coin. He’s looking for other local stakeholders to join him and spread the load the report says.

And the rest, he lost up to 5 million a year during Covid. Worst reported he’s poured in 50 mill since he took over 17 years ago. That’s on average nearly 3 mill a year.

Nick Tana was the one that sold it back to the A league or rather handed it back when he got sick of it.

The whole things been a financial dud for decades.
