Perth 2025
Right. I thought the same about Constable too, but he’s been trumpeted as “locked in”. Maybe it’s the news you provide when you have no news
Yep like Barra’s letter to members a couple of weeks ago they’ve got no news to announce about any new recruits while losing 4 so they are simply patronizing us by confirming who is already contracted for next year while most of them already were under contract. Stubbs probably the only one that wasn’t but has recommitted.

Pretty sure Constable signed for 3 years last year possibly Schlensog as well. Clarke and Simpson I think signed for 2.

But they try to make out like we’ve re-signed them treating us like mugs. I’m still waiting for Luke English to be announced. A couple of sharks supporters well in the know seem to be resigned to losing him. Avery is a confirmed in for the Sharks I would have thought Avery and English would be a simple straight swap no money need change hands.

Conrad Williams has landed on our list. Originally from Claremont he was previously a category b rookie with Freo.

Thanks Satan that hopefully breaks the ice and more will flow. Sounds very talented and only turning 20 in November. Only problem if he shines too bright we know what happens. Speed agility and kicks both feet gee we don’t grow them types at Perth. Had to come from Claremont of course.

Looks like Doddy has broken his Perth duck. Perhaps for a change we insisted on a quality player swap instead of going for the cash.

I can’t see him on our list.

Yes, strange he doesn’t appear on our senior players list on the PFC website. On the wafl players list he is a Perth player though. I’ve never quite understood how that works.

Yes just noticed ?

65 kg doesn’t sound too promising to me.

that’ll be his colts weight, but yes he is still thin and rangy by the looks of it. He spent most of the year in the Peel ressies, so i’m not expecting he’s immediately in the best 22. If you remember back to when Tendai started, he was super skinny and took a year or two to develop and just got better from there. It’s all potential at this stage, but he looks to be a pretty exciting prospect

You guys are easily pleased. We’ve been down this road so many times- this is a player who won’t get close to a league game at C or PT so he winds up with us. I wish him well and hopefully he surprises but this is likely not even replacing the least of the players we lost. This guy is not a 10 player, is he?

Said that myself many a time at EF- but one man’s trash is another man’s treasure- at EF:

Lennon Marlin
Michael Tassone
Lachlan Blakiston
Ben McGuire

All discards at other clubs- including yours- all fantastic players in the Blue and White. Time will tell with young Williams- but good enough to get drafted and spent 2 years on a list. I had heard EF were after him as well

Seen his highlights has a very good sidestep knows how to weave his way through traffic and seems to be able to hit targets. Something we are not very good at. I really don’t understand the negativity so long as we are still getting some coin for Jaiden because he is proven and only ? mark is getting his body right. If they do they’ve got a gun.

Williams only turning 20 this month so plenty of upside. He may have requested a trade to Perth knowing he is likely to crack a league game long before he would at Claremont where they probably have 10 like him.

I might be missing something; he’s played 6 league games and averages 8 disposals a game.
Good luck to him, not sure he is one of the "A’ graders we need.

I don’t think anyone is getting carried away. Have you seen our player stats? Quite often half the team average single figure stats and less than 8. Playing in the Fremantle stacked WAFL side he wouldn’t be getting big minutes. Don’t worry, he’ll be better than most 20 year olds at our club.

As well as the key players we have lost (Avery, Thompson, Hunter) so far, there must also be huge doubts about whether Sing or Poole will play next year. They both have had many concussion episodes.

Joseph Chaplin a pretty big out too. Of those you mentioned - Poole only played 1 or none, Hunter 3 or 4 and Avery 4 or 5.

I seem to believe that Sing is going around again.

So our only massive loss is Thompson and a pretty big loss is Chaplin.

Johnson has to go another level this year. I believe he can. I have heard Stone speak highly about him.

Others who can improve 20% on last year are:

Simpson (just through more time on the park)
Constable (just through more time on the park)
Scoble
Gray
Catchard
Hine Baston
Newick
Wills
Ewing
Watson
Hill
Bodle
Edwards
Jye Clarke
Kemp
Hall twins

Byrner/Taylor/Cogs etc will all stay their very reliable selves

Dellamarta could be interesting if his body holds up. Played league round 1 and 2 in 2023 and the last round in 2034. Lets see what he can do with a good run at it.

Gonna be hard to make finals with -12 start. Let’s hope the WAFC doesn’t play the we feel sorry for you card. You can barely win starting at 0 so I can’t imagine a final ls berth at -12

That would be grounds for Sharks and south to sue the wafc if they do not give a penalty

yes - apparently a big hard hit is about to be announced shortly
it will be savage due to the previous sanctions and will end the Demons’ season before it even got close to starting

If any of this is true then the CEO and Presiden should resign.. It is inexcusable given that ALL CLUBS were on notice after SF were found in breach.

This might explain the lack of recruiting - why would players come to Perth with this cloud over our head? We would have a duty to warn them. Perhaps we figured that getting a transfer fee for Hunter was worth more than getting an injury prone player when the wooden spoon is all but inevitable.

All this for a FIFO nutcase coach whose style went out of fashion 15 years ago, who came from a lesser league, was widely despised by the playing group, and who took us to 6 wins in two seasons. This might just be the greatest of our many humiliations.

Nothing to do with flights I’m told Ted. Not sure what that means. Is it player payments? I would have thought what you pay the coach has nothing to do with player payments. Point is when South were found in breach then it was a clear warning to other clubs. I’m sure I posted then our club better be dotting the i’s and crossing the T’s. No fkn brainer.

And this in a period when we have been given salary cap and points cap concessions.
