Perth 2025

  1. New Football Manager (Check)
  2. New Coach
  3. Stand Commenced
  4. Recruits to cover Thompson and Chaplin
  5. Profit
  6. Top Four all three grades
  7. Retain Sing and Avery

What’s with the x next to football manager? Dodd is recognised as one of the better football managers. Built an impressive record at EF and I believe was also integral in their women’s teams success which we now are a part of.

Couldn’t find a tick sign

TFAF, we have no chance of making the five, and if we are docked 4-8 points, it will be all we can do to avoid the spoon. Recruit to replace Thompson and Chaplin… plus Manzone, Cary, and very likely Poole, Sing, Avery, Stubbs, plus the mid season walk outs like Cooley and AJ. We’ll probably make a profit though.

Read the attached article Baz

That’s a big chunk of change still needed TFaF. Mind you, in the last couple of weeks the state government has thrown around $115m of taxpayers money on zoo tickets, children subsidies and swimming lessons just to score a few votes, so don’t reckon another $5m would even be noticed by those spendaholics.

Funding Briefing Note from (3/9/24) below. The $5 Million short should be able to be sourced from my reading. Let’s get going.

The above talking about this article

Hey idiot it is common knowledge that WCE are putting in $1m.
Comes from having an excellent working relationship between the 2 clubs.
And our ground already has fences.
Comes from having 2 ovals.
Good planning don’t you think?

1 mill from the Eagles, AFL keeping you afloat?

All grants need to be upgraded to reflect current day costs of construction. These amounts were pledged several years ago possibly as much as 4 or 5 years ago. Fed and state government grants should be increased by 2 mill and WCE another 1 mill. There’s your 5 mill shortfall taken care of.

WCE’s AFLW away teams I assume will be using our club rooms as they do already so 2 million isn’t an unreasonable investment.

It’s all G DD. This is pleasantly much further along than I had thought. Final plans are in place. Tender process finished and Contractor engaged, Costings sorted. I reckon we will be starting mid October unless an unimaginable shut down at tomorrow nights council meeting.

I tried to attach agenda for tomorrow nights council meeting - but file too big. Have a look at the Vic Park council agenda for tomorrow nights meeting though page 45.
