Not sure what scale you’re using that rates Avery and Thompson as A graders. And don’t you have Randall? Avery might not get a game at EF from what I’ve seen- he’s not better than Cleaver

Another of Randall’s ex-Peel teammates has just switched to East Perth so we are hoping that might give Randall reason to stay at the Royals.
KCEF, if a 190cm fast defender who gets 25 touches or more per game might not make the cut, you guys are a certainty for the flag.
He averages about 15 and most are point kick ins. There’s a reason he’s onto his 3rd club. I expect him to play 10-12 games max - he’s not better than Cleaver, Murphy, Bailey or even Marlin

KC Avery’s greatest strength is his reading of the play. Has an uncanny knack of just getting in the right spot at the right time to spoil or take a great intercept mark. Like most lefties he is very left sided. Can be a beautiful kick but can butcher them as well. Will probably be a more efficient player in a better side.

Apparently Culley is likely to get drafted by a Melbourne club, so there goes that potential recruit. The off season has been an unmitigated disaster. We have lost CT, Cooley, Avery, Chaplin, Cary, Manzone, plus fringe players in Taylor and Moody. We have recruited 3 players who couldn’t and wouldn’t get a game at any other club - one of them being possibly a 10 point player.
We can make history this year by being the first WAFL club - maybe the first state league club - to finish a season with negative premiership points. If we lose Aaron Clarke, I can’t see us winning 3 games. In 2026 we will equal the record for the longest premiership drought and set a new record in 2027. At least we live in interesting times.
Michael Randall (East Perth) has lodged a clearance application to join Perth
What a joke?
East Perth recruited Randall from Peel in 2022 and then provided legal support for the player after he tested positive to the banned stimulant phentermine while playing for the Thunder in 2021.
Now he wants a clearance to Perth who are also in Salary Cap trouble.
I would let him go, but only after he repays the legal support money personally. Otherwise, go and play Amateurs.

Funny how The West Australian haven’t said boo about this while this investigation has been ongoing for months. No doubt protecting one of their own who as President has to face the music.
It is understood that Perth did not record fringe benefits tax for flights supplied to players last year.

Agree though Grocott I rate higher than Howard but injury prone. Jye Lane another of the German disciples from his former team who has disappeared. Fair to say a failed lesson there. German though raised the standards at our club on and off the field and I am greatful he had the guts to take the job on.
Is Mark Stone our current senior coach if German didn’t arrive here first? Not a chance. Is Charlie Constable, Sam Simpson, Schlensog, Clarke etc here without German as head coach? I severely doubt it.
