oh…sounds like the New Breakwater in Sorrento
Anything more than $8 per pint and I’m not paying.

Most places now your hard pressed to get a pint for that. Some places have beers of the month for $7.50 a pint. Usually it’s a VB or a Carlton Draught. Sometimes they do a Carlton Mid or a Carlton Dry. I’m not as old as some but still hear stories from older blokes that say the remember when beer was 2 bucks a pint. It is a joke though that places can charge $13-15. I’m not one for many boutique beers which seems to be taking over everything. A mate told me that at the High Wycombe Tavern or the Boab they do pints of Stella (I think) for $4.50.
I can remember a middy at 0.15c.

Yeah, I can get a Carlton Dry for $7.80 at the Carine but not much else. Maybe an Emu or VB. But can’t drink VB.
We are being ripped off something chronic with the price of beers. $7:00 a pint in Melb (even at NON pokies pubs) here its best part of $10:00, complete with shyte service.
I can remember a middy at 0.15c.

Me too DF. It used to cost me 15c for a middy (the old size) and 20c for a game of pool. If you had a good night you drank free, if you had a bad night it was 15c for your beer, 20c for a game and 15c for a middy for the bloke that beat you. Cost me a bit till I learned to play the game a bit.

I got stuck into the Strongbows on ice today. Strangely enough, a 330ml bottle with a bit of ice filled a pint glass. Ok for $6
used to drink strongbow but went off it a bit.

Had a darts night once and had to drive to Perth from Karratha next day. Thought I’d drink cider instead of beer. Had 5 stubbies through the game and FMD I felt as though I had drunk a carton of beer next morning. Never drunk cider since that day!

That would have been horendous. Strongbow for me you have to drink quickly as when it gets warm it doesn’t taste the best. Bulmers isn’t a bad drop and neither is Phoenix. James Squire Apple Cider is a bit sweet but still has a nice taste to it.

FMD that was a long time ago.
Back when I used to temp at night at the Manning.
The service was good too.
One for the customer and one for me.
Be prepared to take out a second mortgage if you’re having a beer at the Raffs these days Ben.
