I noted that Ron / ooslumbird posted his final " Where Are They Now " feature earlier today. He made mention of his disappointment in the way the other site has been run into the ground, and left to die an undignified death by it’s uninterested owners. He may well stay over there until the final demise of the other site before joining up here.
.
His excellent artices would be a great addition to this new WAFL site. And I reckon his contributions and his efforts would be apprieciated by owners / admins who have a genuine passion for our the WAFL and it’s glorious history. No spammers here, a not for profit site and Mike, Mrs Admin and George, have set this site up for all the right reasons. This is a place for those who are truly passionate about the local game, not the AFL.
If anyone on here is in regular contact with Ron / oos, maybe drop a few gentle hints and get him to check out the site. I for one think his contributions on the other site have been one of the highlights, but the shabby way the owners have responded to his and others genuine concerns about it’s being saved tells me he would be in a better place over here. ASAP. Please.
Yes, most certainly. Its no secret we are working on this side of the website. George has contacted some who are most interested in posting these types of stories to the website.
I have ALMOST finished this side of things, and hope to have it up and running within a month or two. OzFooty.Net is only just over a month old, but big plans… Stay tuned…
The website will always remain non-profit, and community driven.
Hey Mike, any ideas why i cant access Ozfooty from my i-phone like i can with FG? and also im not getting email alerts when someone replys to a post or thread ive been on, why could this be? Cheers
SD what version iPhone, and what browser are you using?
I’ve tried it on Android 2.3 and it seems to be fine. The browsers are all based on the same OpenSource AppleWebKit, so they SHOULD all display the same, but I am happy to look into it. Try just ozfooty.net without the www.
I can also look into the alerts. I will need to dig a little deeper into it… On my list though.
I have an i-phone 4 but still cannot access it on that which is disappointing as thats where i do most of my posting and keeping up to date when im on the road
I’ll have a better look into it over the next couple of days… I don’t have an iphone, however the wife has an older version 3? I think it is. She also has the latest iPad, so I’ll check with this too..
Has anyone checked/tried with Windows 8 mobile? No one had any problems with Windows and IE itself?
It really does need to work on as many platforms as possible…
Mike I dont have a ipod/ipad either. I know they have a thing called apps but not sure how you get a application on. I know 91.3 has a free app so people can listen to them anywhere.
Anyway sounds like you have a couple of avenues with owning them so will leave you with it. Must be a Geek who owns one who can give more advice
Keep up the good work
No I haven’t to be honest. I have been looking at different modules and plug ins, however I am yet to find one that I am 100% happy with implementing. I shall keep looking.
