Charlie Dean handed No 14. 3 and 6 are vacant have we got room for more? With that huge turnout at the Claremont Great Southern clinic I’m worried we can’t compete. Reckon under the Competitive Balance policy we need a couple more.
Just watched some highlights of Charlie Dean.
He could well be the recruit of the year.
We have definitely strengthened our backline.
We have now got a first class full back.
Well done team DEES.
When we signed Schlensog I thought wow that’s CHB/FB sorted and can go forward. He’s turned out to be best value as a forward and mobile ruckman.
Last season the backline was most vulnerable especially when Johnno went down early in the season and we lost Avery in the off season. So we had to rely on a very young Scoble and Preston-Coates who did well early but got a bit exposed against the better opposition.
So Dean is clearly a strategic priority to address which will benefit Scoble enormously. Now we have Glass-McCasker and Chaplin returning we are suddenly flushed with big man depth.
WOW what a backline.
Composure: Taylor, Scoble, Dean
Reading the Play: Taylor, Scoble, Dean
Marking: Scoble, Sing, Dean
Disposal: Taylor, Scoble, Dean, Hine-Baston
Run: Hine-Baston, Taylor, Phillip
I’m getting excited by the potential of our backline.
Huge midfield (strengthened).
Targets up forward.
And new ruck laws may spring a surprise or two.
Wow, can’t wait for 2026.
Seriously, watch out South, EP and Claremont.
This could be the year. East Perth v Perth gf.
Luke Hallett from East Perth added to our list. No 34. Played colts 185cm from Boyup Brook. Looks like he played 3 games for WA in the u/18s championship this year and got a total of 26 posessions and kicked 5 goals.
On Rookie me Central says he booted 5 goals in three games and was one to watch.
Hallett is a talent
I think he is another EP player who sees the opportunity to progress at my club very limited. His big brother was injured last year and in talking to him he was not sure about returning. He would be a good utility player for you.
Can’t see why he wouldn’t be welcome at Lathlain joining his brother Grump.
Mark Seaby is on board as ruck coach.
A stack of changes today. Regan Clarke No 8 and Tarken Brogan-Henry No 22 have disappeared along with early signing Tye Kemp who I understand never attended preseason training.
Maybe time to pass on those flogs down Mandurah way. Tyrone Thorne, Michael Randall and now Kemp. Stay in Dole City.
A bunch of colts have been added to the list doubling up on existing numbers. Surprised to see Baxter Gray listed under No 19. I thought they were going to permanently retire Dakota’s old number. Perhaps his parents want to see the No 19 out there again.
Bit of a shame Tarks isn’t going on.
He was just starting to get his game going, before that Blasted Injury in the Elimination Final,….
#19 was Baxter’s colts number.
That will automatically flow through unless updated manually by the club. I’d suggest they have just listed all the colts boys on the senior list but not allocated them numbers.
With the recruitment of Dean, Tarkyn may have struggled to get a regular game.
Maybe, that paves the way for your love child to retain a place.
IMHO, Regan may have also struggled with the recruitment of Kirk and Gardiner.
Gardiner, I think will become the dangerous small/medium forward, I think he is versatile.
And who might that be your royal highness? Please enlighten me your greatness.
Chaplin also off the list. That’s not good especially if Derksen pulls out as well.
Joe is listed on the WAFL site as No28, Regan 8, Tarks 22. Tye Kemp not there so looks like we’ve ruled a line thru him. Pretty sure Chaplin was 40 or 50 something. Maybe it’s just a shuffle they have to do and hopefully he will appear back on there, Joey that is.
I think the WAFL site is irrelevant as it is often way behind. The worrying thing is that he is off the Perth list not long after apparently signing on for this season. Like you say hopefully it is just some temporary movement by the club due to points or something.
Short of having a Red Phone through to Doddy, give The Club a Bell,a few days after reopening Monday.
This time of year clubs are trying out a lot of players which eventually have to be trimmed. I’m not bothered at this stage since he’s a signed contracted player until I hear otherwise.
