LH could INXS be labelled with a * for their WA connection (partly) with all 3 x Farriss brothers being born and growing up mostly in Nedlands before their father was transferred to Sydney in the 1970s before moving back here (with the band following) in late 1977/early 1978?
I read just recently either Tim, Andrew or Jon listing EF (there you go Freeze) as their football team they followed growing up believe it or not not a vfl or nrl side!
They played a lot of gigs in that era at Steves, Shenton Park etc and doing road tours to the country areas as well.

Tim Rogers followed the Old East’s back in the 1970’s - no doubt forgotten all about them now and is a big Kangaroos fan - similar colours and all. I have always wondered who The greatest frontmsn of them all Ronald Belford Scott followed? East or South but get the feeling he probably was not too bothered with footy.

gee whiz mate…Died Pretty album “Sold”. Awesome stuff. Should have been as big as Cold Chisel. So thanks for the tip…I’m going through your other suggestions slowly but surely https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCgpTyEl91w&list=OLAK5uy_mkew9C9Or8ske2nM7_R1oMrZwVWUXciKM

Grandpa music is a bit harsh! It is just a matter of taste really and when the music was made certainly is irrelevant. There is a lot of great aussie music and much of it not that well known or given anytime by commercial radio. More not mentioned Ed Keupper, Laughing Clowns, The Sleepy Jackson, Pond, Tex Perkins, Beasts Of Bourbon, No Fixed Address, Rose Tattoo, Bakery, Dirty Three and much more. A bit heavy on the testosterone - to balance things ever so slightly Gyan from 1989?

Gee TE I havent heard that song in 31 years.
Australia (and WA) produced some great music/musicians/bands back in that era.
I must admit I dont listen to as much new music these days as I did pre mid 2000s but a couple of current WA acts are very good value- Birds Of Tokyo, Tame Impala, Bob Evans etc

Got Ed in already and deciding which of his Laughing Clowns I might add.

Keep adding and deleting Pond Songs…I like them and then they come up in the playlist and they don’t feel right when I picture 8 people sitting around having beer and bbq.

Yeah should add Sleepy Jackson seeing as I have Empire of the Sun.

I decided that to be different from the others I’d avoid ACDC, Rose Tattoo and Hilltop Hoods…I don’t know the other artists so I’ll check them out…cheers again

Not an easy task plus there is so much too choose from - plenty of awesome underground stuff. A more commercial sounding act was Jack Frost - you may have heard of them - a collaboration between Steve Kilby and Grant McClennan. Worth checking out if you have not. Bon Scott’s band before AC/DC Fraternity is worth seeking out too.

Got enough post 2000 stuff now. Happy with the selection at least until next December when I’ll have another crack. There should be something in there for most people now aged 25-75 and it’s not just one big Oz cliche.
