Looking forward to this Test Series starting tonight after NZ made mincemeat of Ireland last week.
New Zealand might fancy their chances in this test
Harry B living by the sword…..NZ making the most of the conditions, though once again they put down Harry….with Ravindra dropping a soda……Harry B does live an enchanted life at times….well actually all the time……would actually average under 30 if teams could catch him first chance offered.
Good to see after all the’IPL rubbish, the bowlers get a chance to shine for a change, in a bat n ball contest. NZ will need a Brook like cameo from Phillips to gain parity. Or does Latham declare, make the most of the conditions, and hopefully the conditions improve like in the WTC final, and NZ bat last chasing a total?
Bat on mate, however long that lasts.
Reduce the deficit as much as possible.
Still 4 days to go.
Give me Test Cricket over the white ball stuff every day of the week!
That’s why Marnus average was so inflated, from memory he was dropped around 30% of the time he batted in his first few years, now luck has turned people are holding onto chances and he isn’t anywhere near the batter we thought he was
well how about that day
even forgiving the dampness and greentop
New Zealand must have been cock a hoop skittling England for 140
then hurtled back downward shortly after being an almost ridiculous 6 for 29
depending on weather this could be another one done inside 3 days
Spot on PH…..pretty sure BH mentioned something about Marnus and his early 60+ average due to dropped chances
I better listen to Sport FM UK Correspondent Paul Bryce again.
I’m sure the word pitch was used in descriptions of yesterday’s play.

Good win by the Kiwis in the 2nd Test at The Oval giving the makeshift England side some hurry up, Matt Henry with 11 for 109 in the match!
So I guess the to and froms will race any suspended players back in to their Team.
Yes Atkinson and Stokes back in but really its a great opportunity for the Kiwis to win the series. Baz is rapidly losing his credibility with the English setup and may well lose his job if they get beaten at Trent Bridge. They have now lost 6 of their last 8 tests
TBH, NZ could easily lose the 3rd test, as easily as they won the 2nd teat, and as easily as they lost the 1st test. Stokes, Atkinson, Robinson and Smith possess far more experience, and test exposure then the likes of Cox, Rew, Baker and Fisher…..
Kudos to the Black Caps for taking advantage of a pretty inexperienced Eng XI…..Phillips, Blundell, Ravindra, Mitchell and Nicholls all filling their boots, as did Jamieson and Henry. Hopefully the decider will be a cracking contest…..anyone’s series for the taking….
For sure although Stokes has to explain to the team how he managed to break the rules that he developed and insisted on implementing for the whole group. I wondering what affect this issue will have on the team morale and then the impact on their performance.
been a few incidents over the years now
Stokes is just “one of the lads”
great player real gutsy
but probably should have an appointed captain’s minder
well you would think so anyway
So does Stokes resume as captain? Has Root been the stand in captain?
Stokes has been named Captain. Root was the stand in which was a bit strange given that Brook was the vice Captain to Stokes but he also has a rap sheet
Interesting that Ollie Robinson wasnt selected in the final xi, despite being available and his man of the match performance in the first test.
Thought he was injured mate
