kcef: yes, that is true, but the point your missing, is that on those occasions both sides had eventually agreed.
We eventually let Buckenara go too, but not for nowt.

KCEF he won’t play at EF in 2020 unless you come up with a deal.
You are dealing with the new PFC.
Not the old one.
You will find it harder.
So if you want him come up with a deal.
You can exclude Quill hasn’t even played League.
You’re dreaming.
I’m for letting him go. We can probably manage without guys like leggett. Don’t get me wrong I liked the ‘package’ but given his stats, and in particular his selfish hungry hippo ineffective kicking on goal, it was what I thought was his love of the jumper that was s huge part of the package I liked.
Without that he’s s bit of a jerk really and not THAT good on any statistical measure. I mean he was good when the ball in the oppos hands but I’d hate to see him taking possies off burner of Masten or tayls or Gordy and trying to impress scouts with his silly bombs.
If only Loersch was a good bloke, damn, would have been a good swap. Do the deal while he’s contracted tho.
stt: even so, you should still get something for him or make him sit out the season
He’s contracted. To our EF friends, if you want him make a decent offer. Otherwise - Move on and focus on pre season. (And perhaps renovating the debacle that is the moss street shithole.)
Hahahaha is that all your got.
Culture???
Like when EF get rid of a club champion when he’s a ? dick away from playing 400 games.
My advice to Cody in future don’t sign a contract that lasts any longer than one year.
Perhaps EF felt guilty for poaching Bomber for 300 plus games from the Perth strong hold of Manning FC 30+ way back in the day…at least you guys got a tail end taste of what the champ could do I guess.
DF I am confused mate - you categorically said it was all fantasy and make believe that Leggett wanted out of Perth to go to EF…LOL…what was the fella’s 2km time trial again mate?
Try 50;years ago Freez. But we got pretty used to EF poaching our players.
At least we helped to celebrate his 400 th game when your lot didn’t want to know him.
If East Fremantle want Cody Leggett, I’d be asking for Luke Stranadica and Thomas Bennett in return.
You guys have already asked Strnadica mate, apparently a few weeks back along with a few other clubs…the fella politely declined from all accounts…
From Leggetts point of view, I think he would be far more attractive to an AFL club if he buckled down, played out the last year of his contract with Perth to the best of his ability and see what happens at the end of next year. Tim Kelly was denied a clearance to West Coast at the end of 2018 and instead of sulking he played a brilliant 2019 with Geelong which increased his trade value. There is no benefit to Leggett ( or the WAFL for that matter) for him to sit out for the year but Perth have the right to pay hard ball here.
He’s be one of two players that I’d be looking at rather than a transfer fee. Not many ruckman average close to 20 hitouts and a goal a game. Maybe we have another crack and say he’ll be leading our ruck line.
Yep no harm in asking again…tho pretty sure the EF players knew about Leggett wanting to come over to EF a few weeks before you disbelieving Perth fans did…also think the PFC did too, thus the initial Strnadica enquiry a few weeks back…but hey as we know a week is a long time in footy…so 3 weeks would be a lifetime…surprised DF didn’t know tho…
The thing I find a bit strange is this talk of his AFL chances. He’s a good player but hardly AFL level. If Schloithe, Bolton, Kitchen etc can’t get a look in then Leggett’s got no chance.
You can add Sokol to that and though now 29 Delahunty has been a top performer at WAFL level for several years now. I believe Cody has the physical attributes to become an AFL player but he’s coming from a long way back off these players who are being overlooked and AFL scouts would be right across this latest drama so I’d say Cody has taken himself off the “keep an eye on” list of AFL talent scouts.
Best Cody can hope for now is he joins the long list of illustrious ex Perth players who move to EF and go on to become premiership players. Lol good luck with that one.

Now that would piss me off.

Spot on Cesspit.
Well done the new regime if they did speak to Strnadica.
The decisions they are making are spot on.
Up to EF to put a satisfactory deal together.
Or Cody puts his boots in mothballs for a year because without a clearance he won’t be playing at EF.
Well Cody aint gonna win one at Perth that is for sure boys…talk about dreaming, fantasyland, delusions of grandeur…but hey that is all us EF and Perth fans can do…

I think it is fair and appropriate that he stays at Perth and sees out his contract - further he should stay loyal to the club that has stood by him post the contract and remain a Perth player.
He could then join that long list of illustrious players who have played at Perth and not won a premiership for 40+ years. Can you imagine how many Whoppers Hungry Jacks could sell at a reunion for all players from the non 40 year flag winning era at the weagles new home base. Be a bigger turn out than a U2 concert.
