Coach under pressure

Well here we again!
Another coach under the microscope and very likely to be replaced at seasons end from what i hear. Not sure what Salecic has done to deserve such treatment. Apparently did not wish to address the playing group on Saturday. I realise all has not been well in the Falcons nest this season, but surely some support could be given to the coach?

With geriatric playing group, they have, I’m not sure it’s the Coach’s fault.
Although he could have done some re-jigging of the playing group, I guess.

Once you start pulling off stunts like not addressing the playing group your time is up. Sounds like he’s lost the players and probably long ago. I’d be surprised if he’s coaching WP on Saturday.

But it’s probably the end of a long era at WP. Aaron Black should give it away been a great player. Maybe has the credentials and desire to be a senior coach? But as in Jason Salecics’ case being a great onfield leader doesn’t necessarily mean you will be a good coach.

Salecic gone tonight

Gone tonight?
My goodness, some serious stuff happening at the Arena! Have had the radio and tv news turned on and not heard anything in the damned media. I only found out when speaking with old mate on the phone.

Paul Sanzone caretaker coach.

Easy to move the coach on, someone else will pay out his contract as we all know that 4 cents in the $ West Perth won’t cover the cost.

Pathetic way to treat a champion of the Club.

Very interesting move by WP.

Since they won the flag in 2022, WP has dropped away significantly.

Ageing list with their top end players, a lack of quality 25-28 year olds, but a pretty good young crop that will take time to develop.

They’ve struggled with injuries for 3 seasons to key players and lost players in the MSD too.

Not sure Salecic was ever set up for success with the list he had to work with. Poor way to treat a club champion and you have to wonder if the tails wagging the dog at WP at the moment with some senior players who are getting past it, having too much influence with the Board.

Will Sanzone get any better outcomes, as WP Ressies are winless this season and they only won 2 games last year finishing with a percentage of 52.

If your Ressies aren’t putting pressure on your League players to perform you are always going to struggle.

Agree with Tiger , cannot see much improving here, a pretty old list.

At least they arent bankrupt again I guess.

What a strange bunch West Perth supporters are. Winger’s a good one but seems to be absent here but gee, your coach has just been sacked and can’t hear boo on here from a WP supporter.

I guess they must be in shock staring at 3 seasons in a row without finals since winning the 2022 flag. How the privileged have fallen.

Very quiet from the WP faithful, maybe struggling with internet service now Pentanet aren’t sponsoring the Falcons anymore?

Lots of change at WP in their footy department.

  • 3 Football Managers in 4 seasons.
  • 4 Senior Coaches in 5 seasons
  • 3 Senior Physios in 3 seasons
  • Change of S&C with a FT role added this year.

Onfield results haven’t improved and the Boards answer is more change.

Easy for the Board to move a coach on but sounds like they need to seek an independent review of the football department from top to bottom.

How much responsibility are the Senior players taking for the lack of team performance?

Correct, it would not surprise if certain geriatric players are having too much to say.

Good luck to Sanzone on his interim promotion

Secret society or front runners?

Maybe butting in when I shouldn’t, butt at a time when people are saying how well the WAFL is going, there is a situtaion like this at WP.
It alos amazes me that so many seem to be relishing the demise of a coach and maybe the club.
I wonder how many that are taking pot shots have had their club in similar situations.
I think every club at some stage have.

No one taking a shot at the coach Seinor! You are getting things muddled again. People saying The Club shouldn’t treat a legend of the club like this.

Sorry TFAF, I have been looking at other sites and the pleasure is obvious.
But I take your point.
To me the WP club has been a dislike, but never a hate.
Hopefully WP can fix the issue and get back to being a power in the WAFL.

On WAFL world tonight it was claimed the rest of the coaching staff have left in solidarity with the Jason S.

Agree with Senior that West Perth is a vital component of the WAFL set up. Let’s hope the parties are reconciled and the club can move forward.

All 8 WAFL clubs are vital components of the comp.
Hopefully Joondy can get there shit together soon, as it’s not a good look for the WAFL.

interesting that this is the 20th comment on this topic and there hasn’t been any input from a West Perth supporter? I know there are a few that comment on games, so would be interested in getting their take on the situation
