Driving past the ground on the way to work this morning I noticed that the turnstile at the Guilford end of the ground has been demolished. Interesting to see what goes up.

All is not as it seems at the might black and whites.

New Director Sarah Curnow as quit only after two months on the board at SDFC.
Got to ask the question WHY!!!

So by right George Copley would be second to the board.

2015 Election Results
Andrew Holmes 398 votes

Paul Rosair 372 votes

Sarah Curnow 213 votes

George Copley 193 votes

Fiona White-Hartig 162 votes

82nd Annual General Meeting
Will be held on Thursday the 4th of February

Members prepare for a big financial loss at the meeting

A word of warning Georgie boy don’t take on the roll as Director

Yes over heard the barman talking about this Thursday night at the Club

Yes,a source if mine told me that Swans were going to make a loss. How did he know?He ain’t a Swans supporter. :woohoo:

Goes to show how important it can be to take your chance at WAFL level in making finals for the purposes of the bottom line as per WP in 2015. A few too many clashes of crucial home games with live WCE telecasts and some shocking luck with bad weather on the day of some big games did not help. There were quite a few home games this year where the can bar didn’t stand a chance. I must have worn the Dryazabone to 5 or 6 games in 15 it was that bloody cold and windy. Does not help when you only get 10 home games to generate some coin. Not surprised at all by this news.

Hello All,

What I will say is this, I have not been approach to be on the board of Swan Districts Football club. Yes the grapevine is out there about Director Ms Sarah Curnow resignation, But it has not be confined by the Swan Districts Football club.

I have been told that Swan Districts Football club have made a small profit.

It will be, and SHOULD BE, a robust AGM. In my (ever so humble) opinion it was unfathomable and inexplicable the election of Ms Curnow to the board based on her failure to indicate that she was a Swans’ supporter and/or a Swans’ member for a reasonable length of time.

Again in my opinion, if Ms Curnow has indeed tendered her resignation from the SDFC Board we, as members, will expect a reasonably expansive explanation. Similarly, if the board has chosen to co-opt someone onto the board that is at odds with the previous convention of inviting the person that received the next highest number of votes it is incumbent on the Board to fully explain such a course of action.

To eliminate any doubts the above is my OWN PERSONAL VIEW and not based on any discussions of the rumoured position with either disaffected former SDFC Board member(s)(s) or unsuccessful SDFC Board candidates.

Glad to see Swans will make a Profit George.

Now who told my mate Swans would make a big loss?KH?

why does a board member have to be a supporter 42? I would think the person who brings the most to the table in terms of expertise and skills to advance the club would be more important no matter which team that person supports. it’s analogous to saying only shareholders can be on the board of companies…it seems nonsensical to me.

Tom Bottrell for instance BC

Board members are mostly unpaid positions aren’t they? Why would a non supporter want to be a board member?

I think he still works for a certain local Sunday paper,George.
