They were a very good side and were structured very well, but when you shut Frank outta the game the crumbled a little. I dont think they are or were a better side then Canningvale.

Didn’t win the Reserves Flag either and in fact didn’t even make the Grand Final.
They can be beaten - based on last year. If Nollamara had have converted early in the GF a repeat of the 2nd Semi Final would have been on the cards.
Canningvale were definitely stronger in 2011 than Noranda in 2012.
DB.
In fact even though Nolla were seven down at half time, they had so many scoring shots in the second half that went through for points, they still could have won the game if they kicked straight!! If only they had passed to the fowards instead of taking shots from long range it would have been very interesting, as Noranda were out on their feet!! The more disciplined team won on the day.
I dont think Noranda will find it easy as Canning Vale did and might only just be fighting to make the 5
Armadale i think will rebound and usually recruit well when required they will probably be the team to beat at this early stage of speculation.
Carlisle, Balljura, Cockburn, Dianella,East Fremantle will be also thereabouts
The only team that may struggle is Belmont however if they have recruited well along with the base of their C2 side from last year they will also be competitive
The Newbies Noranda and Nollamara wont be out of their depth but they wont dominate as others have posted.
I think this will be a very even grade this season and look forward to keeping an eye on the scores this season…
Staples seems to have his/her fingure in the pulse.
Care to have an earlier stab at the ladder then?
Gees way to earlier Whitey Top 5 at an early guess
Ellenbrook
Armadale
Carlsle
Dianella
Ballajura
Tough to Pick Early and it be hard to right off the other 5 teams at this stage
That top 5 look pretty good, but I think Belmont will be a little stronger then expected, don’t know about Armadale. Is there any dark horses or sleeping giants that could make a big play this year?
WOW.
I know I’ve just said that Noranda were not as good in 2012 as Canningvale in 2011. But they were VERY VERY good. Canningvale were just a cut-above as they showed in 2012.
Not in Top 5???
Noranda are almost certain to be Top 3 (prob Top 2) if they have added and not lost players. They have alot of depth and were not fair off going through League, Reserves and Thirds all undefeated in the H&A season.
DB.
Agree with you DB, can see them playing well into the pointy end of the season.
As i said it way early but have heard through the grapevine they have lost several of their premiership side and havent replaced them so depth might not be that good…
But i guess until the season starts is the only way to tell…
Just think this comp will be really close
Ill be getting around to see a few scratch matches so might know more then
any scratchy news or results from over the weekend??
Big Red I hear a rumour that Ellenbrook had a run on the weekend? How did that go?
yes we did against Bassandean at Jubiless, was good to run some rust out of the legs and try some different things, was a bit of a strange match as the main game of the day was 6 quarters and ellenbrook pretty much had 2 sides (league and reserves) play 3 qtrs each but Basso were a few short and most of them played the 6 qtrs. good to just get out there again, basso probably won on the scoreboard comfortably but not really what the day was about. great to see ellenbrooks first ever thirds side play and also play quite well.
Red, the word on the street is you had quite a few big red wines to run out of the system from the night before? Any truth to that rumour? I thought you played quite well considering!
I think he might off had a couple of bottles under his belt mate!!
Agree with Red, it was good to get to blow the cobwebs out and stretch the legs.
Didn’t take note of the scoreboard but made sure I found where the bar was straight after the game to rehydrate…
yeh just a couple, not used to this whole playing on sunday thing, glad thats the last time we’ll be doing that, basso obviously needs to work on there tackling, cos im not sure how i picked the ball up and 360 spun around inbetween roughly 4 basso mids, who failed to lay a finger on me! haha
I thought you were still drunk and tripped, spinning 360 degress before straightening back up…
more than likely, either way was the first and last time ill be pulling that move
From what I saw a couple of weeks ago Ellenbrook have a lot of improvement to do to even look like finishing on top. They seemed to be dis-organised which maybe a little strange.
