C1 2013

Here we go. 2013 what does it have in store for your club!

Coming Down:
Kingsley
Kelmscott (due to being found guilty of paying players)

Staying In:
Melville
Ocean Ridge
Wanneroo
Kingsway
Coolbinia West Perth
Thornlie

Coming up:
Lynwood Ferndale
Gosnells

Pretty sure I have this right. So any news coming from any of these clubs, recruitments? any big losses?

Anyone keen to make a Prediction?

Tough grade to pick this year. Kelmscott will be strong in C1. Kingsley will be thereabouts as with Melville. The rest of the grade all looks capable of beating eachother.

Kingsley will finish middle of the pack, all up should be a very competitive grade this year. Have heard that Kelmscott have taken the league to court over the demotion decision!!

It will be good to see some old Sunday football rivalries renewed with Gosnells, Thornlie, Kingsway and possibly Kelmscott playing each other. Might be worth driving out to have a look at a few of those games.

Ocean Ridge will slip this year and Gosnells will struggle.
Lynwood to impress.
Kelmscott and melville grandfinal.

-Rooty-

Rooty, why do you think Gosnells will struggle and Lynwood will go ok both GF finalists from last season

I would think with the mass exodus from Kelmscott after the player payment scandal they will struggle bigtime

Greatgame, is a mass exodus from kelmscott an accurate report or just an assumption ??

Lynwood will be odds on favorites for relegation back to C2. Gossie will hold their own. Don’t see Ocean Ridge slipping.

Here’s my ladder come seasons end
Melville
Kelmscott
Ocean ridge
Kingsley
Wanneroo
Kingsway
Coolbinia west Perth
Gosnels
Thornlie
Lynwood

I think both Gosnells and Lynwood will be dangerous this season and from what I have seen they will worry a few teams.

Thornlie seem to be going about their business quietly.

Did someone say Kelmscott was fighting the relegation?

I hope they stay and we have 4 of the Sunday sides competing together again.

Old rivalries and traditions to be revived.

-GreatGame

I don’t think you have solid facts about Kelmscott.

Insider tells me Lynwood have picked up some good players.

-Rooty-

Latest news is that Kelmscott have decided against appealing the WAAFL decision!!

Any more news guys as we get closer to scratch matches?

I think both sides coming up will be competetive, If you think they will bounce back to C2 easily your in for a tough year

anyone playing scartch matches this weekend?

I have heard Melville are hosting Brentwood this weekend.

I’ll probably go down and watch, will repost with details of match next week.

What’s there to take the waafl to court for? they cheated and for what they were still didn’t get anywhere

I hear they have backed down turtle…I could be wrong but that is what I have been told

Here we go, Fixtures are out and Round 1 kicking off on the 13th of April and looks like this:

Lynwood Ferndale (C1) v Kingsley (C1)
Ferndale Park

Kingsway (C1) v Gosnells (C1)
Kingsway Reserve

Kelmscott (C1) v Ocean Ridge (C1)
TBA

Thornlie (C1) Coolbinia West Perth (C1)
Thornlie Oval

Wanneroo (C1) v Melville (C1)
Wanneroo Showgrounds

Not too sure how the Colts are going to work though with CWP not having a colts team, or have they got one this year?

CWP have a colts team with good numbers this year.

Good to hear! So would it be safe to assume with the age being raised this year every team in C1 should have a colts team, and they will follow the league fixture?

I went down and watched the League and Reserves Brentwood vs. Melville match..
Was fairly boring with Brentwood getting destroyed by both sides, Melville’s midfield and full forward in both sides look dangerous.

Couldn’t really take much out of the game other than how different the skill levels are between the grades.

that’s funny coz I have a brentwood bloke telling me they smashed Melville which I felt was not quite correct.
