Haha yeah Melville won both games well. Both games, particularly the League game blew out a bit at the end which was probably a fitness thing. Brentwood were pretty happy with how things went certainly didnt go in too worried about the result. Always good to have a crack at better teams to let people know the standard you are aiming for.
Always hard to read alot into scratch matches, as usually there is a difference in grades that the sides play in, Though I did hear Kingsley and Coolbinia had a hit out last weekend, Anyone care to share any news on this game?
I think it will be a really close comp again with the top 5.
Gosnells the dark horse with some very strong (rumored) recruits!
oMelville and Kelmy will be very hard to beat.
Who are these rumored recruits that have been mention in previous posts
Gosnells hosting melville this weekend, will be a good hit out and interesting to have a look at these so called new recruits that i’ve heard so much about…
Keen to see who they are Rooty and if they live upto their hype. let us know how you go. Lynwood has game against Brentwood on Saturday, anyone playing this weekend
Wanneroo the dark horse and i dont think Kelmscott will finish in the top three.
Melville/Wanneroo/Oceanridge the three to watch
Gosnells vs Melville Scratchy;
Colts - melv only had 15 colts turn up so Gossies kindly lent a few over to allow for a hit out. was a blow out, Gossies won buy a large margin.
Reserves - Only had 15-16 turn up so Gossies once again lent a few players, looked like a really good hit out and the Rams ended out coming on top by 1 point. The rams full forward was unstoppable kicking around 6.
League - Rams were short again so a couple of the Reserves had to play a second game, Gosnells ran over the top of the rams with ease.
Conclusion: Rams look to be struggling for numbers for all of there scratch matches, lets hope they get more numbers down for the start of the season. Even with the rams low on numbers Gosnells do look very strong this year and will be one to look out for.
Regards
Rooty
Did all these new recruits play rooty?
I know scratchies are not much to judge by, but having played Melville and Lynwood. I would be concerned about lynwood who have come up from C2… they were very impressive and should account for Melville easily.
I have nothing to do with Melville but I think people may find Melville might have been struggling for numbers because there WACA cricket club had a team In the finals and there Suburban turf team had 5 teams in the finals. A lot of those guys play footy aswell
Boys its three weeks out from round 1 and im sure alot of clubs are playing scratch matches, some with their stronger sides and some with players still getting fitness under their belts from cricket or other things over the summer.
I think writing off a club now is only going to give them incentive to play better and work harder as the season gets closer.
Its all purely speculation how good or bad teams will go until we get to 5.00pm On Saturday 13th April…
Time will tell.
Melville did seem a little short against Brentwood a couple of weeks ago
:woohoo:
hopefully we get a pre season write up from the Panda himself…unless Melville have taken his keyboard licence away from him…wouldnt suprise me.
Have you not heard the saying “don’t poke the sleeping bear”, it’s been peaceful around here without the Panda talking himself up all the time.
Got to watch the Panda up close and personal a couple weeks ago … I was expecting someone called a Panda to be a big burly CHF.
boy was I in for a fkn shock! bahahaha
He did bag a couple.
Here we go just over a week before round 1! All teams should be getting full numbers down at training at the moment. Interesting to see some ins and outs from all clubs on Sporting Pulse.
I think Gosnells is going to be the real surprise packet this year! From the old SFL days, they have always been pretty competitive! Did gossies secure the services of Neon Leon or is that just a the old footygoss chatter coming through?
Will be interesting to see how Kelmscott go, as they mixed it up pretty well in B grade last year, so most would expect they would be up around the top again this year to push back up there. Minus the fuel cards that is!
where can we see the ins and outs of each club on sporting pulse KingsWhat?
Would be good to have a look at.
Anyone teams having a scratchy this weekend? Against?
