Big Bash XIV- 14

Well the Stars have racked up 220 at the G.
Im not sure the Hurricanes will chase that down, but tbh the Scorchers really dont deserve to make the Finals imho!

Agar ???
geez that is a shocker of a decision
WA have Connolly & Rocchiccioli
why would you even bother with an injury prone 30+
and then let go a really good quick

I would rather Rocchiccioli concentrate on his red ball cricket Southy.

Do you think Connolly will be available full time to WA, or could he battle his way into the Oz team? (Even though he is a West Aussie!!!)

a lot could depend on how he goes in Sri Lanka
but then again the way Morris has been treated by this lot
he could be just a number added on and never get a look in
and then rarely play at all anywhere
got some serious talent though ( but again so has Morris )

yes absolutely mate
and so maybe it is for the best that an injury riddled 30 plusser just plays that fried chicken cricket

So the tankers are through to the BBL Final. What a blight on the game.

But on the more important side. Apparently Mitch Marsh and Tim David are in the sights of the Melbourne Stars.

OTO, it would’ve been an even bigger blight on the game if the Scorchers, with a 4-6 record, had qualified to play finals.
The Hurricanes were due a loss and rebounded well yesterday to beat the Sixers.
With the top four comprising two Sydney teams, one Melbourne team and one Hobart team, I know who I’ll be supporting next Monday.

Hobart making the finals just sums up how weak a competition the Big Bash really is…besides Ellis, can’t think of any decent player in that Hurricanes team…McDermott and David are mediocre cricketers…hardly ever on…and go missing when the pressure goes up a notch.

Meredith and Stanlake are two of the most over rated speedsters going around, both soft as butter, with 4 overs their max before they get injured. Amazed that Hobart are one of the finalists…the Scorchers sadly have missed a great opportunity to win another trophy here…

How good were Tassie? Great to watch and great to see Sandpaper Dave and his boys get their arses kicked.

Mitch Owen - what a magnificent striker of the ball he is!
Full credit to Hurricanes skipper Nathan Ellis’s great spell with the ball after the Thunder looked set to post 200-plus.

Thunder where 0-100 of the first 10 overs
Second 10 was 7-85.Canes fough back.Thunder needed 230 to stop Hurricane Owen.

Well done Hurricanes, clearly the best team all year. Mitch Owen may end up with a few contracts as a result of that innings. Credit to the Thunder for battling through to the final after losing 2 key players from that horrific collision in Perth.

Its official, Behrendorff off to the 'Gades on a 3 year deal. Scorchers chasing Joel Paris to come back west.

Not a bad thing for the Scorchers imho, as no 35yo should be getting a 3 year deal as good as Behrendorff has been over the years!

Totally agree BH…as good a player as Behrendorf is or was…at 35 yrs of age, a 3 year deal is bonkers…reckon he will be injured for most of it. Hopefully the Scorchers can look within and show some faith and play some of their youngsters.

Great knock by Owen, but geez some of that Thunder bowling was garbage…but hey you can only play what’s put in front of you…11 sixes is pretty good tonking.
