Game 1 was Perth vs the Stars.Scorchers bowled and fielded well.Connolly + Turner chased the total down.In front of 30,469 fans. With 1 million tv viewers.
Game 2 Was Renegades vs 6ers down at Geelongs GMHBA stadium.6ers captain lead the run chase ,Henriques. In front of 16,000 fans.
Game 3 was a belter in Canberra.Thunder vs Strikers.Game turned with moments swings both ways.Till Sams smashed Pope the leggy in the,19th over.In front of 10,000 fans.
Also great to have Abc radio covering the BBL men.Havnt done so in the last decade.
Connolly will play test cricket one day I reckon. He has that certain charisma and swagger about him which will take him a long way. He plays with no fear
He actually plays exquisite cricket shots and his timing is sublime.
As he showed in the Sheffield Shield Final last year, the BBL Final 2 years ago and the Under 19 World Cup where he was Captain the step up in class and pressure doesnt seem to faze him one iota either.
Konstas also looks the same a class above.
I have no idea how much Star Sports Network, in India pays CA.For the BBL coverage.
BBL 13 .It was estimated that over 55 million Indians watched ,BBL 13.
Two new Indian streaming services have jumped on to BBL 14.Hotstar and Disney +.
Seriously what a disgraceful pitch and outfield served up by the self proclaimed “sporting capital of the universe” for the Big Bash game tonight.
I have seen better looking cow paddocks than that shit tip!
GTR you seem like a big Scorchers fan.
How poor has their recruiting of overseas players been in the last decade?
Outside of Laurie Evans they have pretty much all been duds and this years lot of Allen, Jennings & Hurst (I reckon they could have found half a dozen local keeper/batsman of better quality than him) could be the worst of all time.
Would be better sticking with the local WA talent than these overseas flops!
BH a few days ago.
40,000 year 12 students had a breakup party on the ground.Band and lots of dancing.Made it look like a cow paddock.
Without Connelly where bowled out for under 100.
Yep we have had a number of dud imports. And the lot of them in BBL 14.
I would give up on BBL 14 and blood some young local talent.
The Canadian international Spoors looks ok.If he can get to the wicket not under total pressure.
.
Good knock by young Connolly, showed a lot of maturity and of course talent…the others…local and imported, were very disappointing to say the least…The Scorchers did well to keep the game alive for so long…but those early wickets when batting definitely made things very hard.
Not sure what the fuss is all about the state of the ground…it’s BBL, they arent out their long enough fir starters…and TBH a paddock is probably the perfect place for the irrevelancy of this comp.
NY resolution tip for you BH…let it go mate…this ingrained hate you have for anything Victorian, is on par with the ingrained hate the Kiwi’s have for anything Australian…and we all know how insular the Kiwi’s are…let it go mate., it’s not a good look.
Freeze i wouldn’t call the BBL irrelivent.
Crowds have allways been poor in Sydney+Melbourne.
Sporting attendances in Sydney are disappointing all year around. For both summer and winter sports.
Melbourne because both BBL team have been ordinary for a long time.
Tv ratings are excellent for 7,Fox+Kayo adding India and the Uk also.
Abc radio and Sen also have good ratings. With a lot of English players its also on BBC 5 Live.
The BBL is the largest global watched sport coming out of Australia. With the massive Tv and streaming ratings coming out of India.

Freeze if you want to tell anyone & everyone how you are the best and greatest at everything (especially sporting related) as the Vics love to do then fair game if someone wants to point out occasionally that hey maybe you arent as good as you lot think you are!
You obviously dont know or work with any Victorians mate…half your luck!
you would have to go back to the 1970’s and early 1980’s MCG to see that much vast dead dark grey grass on a venue
there was barely any solid areas of green grass on that surface - even the drop in pitch was half gone and in really poor shape
worst ground in Australia by far this season
BH…there are plenty of those "Vic- centric’ stereotypes you speak of everywhere mate…met and know a fair few WA born n bred folk of that same ilk growing up in WA…met a fair few "like what they know- know what like’ sorts living in Yorkshire and London mate…and have met plenty living in NZ…they are every where…just smile and wave mate…just smile n wave.
Lucky Hobson scored 46 runs of 19 balls.
To save another average Scorchers batting performance.
Great boxing day crowd over 41,000.Incredibly noisy crowd in the Heats, batting innings.
Long boxing day of cricket.Test day and two big bash matches.
GTR Allen, Jennings (dropped last night) & Hurst have been terrible recruits so far.
Allen hasnt made it past the 5th ball of the innings in any of the 4 games.
Hurst dropped 2 catches last night, surely Curtis or Holt or a number of other WA based keepers have him covered?
These 3 continue the list of failed overseas recruits like Crawley, Roy, DuPlessis, Lyth etc this decade with only Laurie Evans the only shining light.
Probably better off spending that money on keeping WA locals here!
Whats even more weird BH.
Is that English players are dominating BBL 14.For ever other franchise team.Apart from Perth.
It has the feeling of Soccer players at the Scorchers.Who just float around clubs, .Playing all over the world for $$$.

I love the BBL, but it’s hard to get parochial with these ‘mercenaries’ pulling on a Scorchers shirt. The ideal thing would be to have the team filled with WA players. Maybe one spot for an international in case they could pick up someone special. I can’t think of one international that was the main reason we won the comp throughout the years.
Shark, apart from the 3 imports, I am almost 100% certain that all the current Perth Scorchers ARE WA based cricketers. There are a couple of Eastern Staters in the squad (Agar and Fanning), but they have played all of their senior careers in WA.
Unlike the women Scorchers. Apart from the imports, there are only three WA based players. Chloe Piparo, Piepa Cleary and Chloe Ainsworth. All the rest are Eastern Staters.
