AFL Trade Talk

Going to be a big trade period this off season. To kick things off just listening to Hardie and Hagdorn on 6PR sounds like Alex Fasolo is a strong chance to come home to West Coast and a lot of talk about Jessie Hogan heading home, maybe not next year but in the not too distant future and even though Fremantle are the ones crying out for a key forward, with Josh Kennedy maybe only having a few more years in him the Eagles would love to have him.

My belief is Hogan was a Fremantle supporter and his whole family are. Already looks like Brandon Matera is heading to Fremantle and Nathan Wilson from GWS wants to come home.

Jack Watts sounds like he’s heading to either Collingwood or PA.

Hardie reckons Fremantle have spoken to former Adelaide midfielder Scott Thompson about a coaching role.

Don’t know if anyone wants Stringer now, after his ex broke her silence and poured scorn on him.

Quite a bit of baggage with that young man.

Does Worsfold really need him after his experience with Cousins and Company?:pinch:

How about posting trade talk here guys? Under AFL General!

Heard this one today DD.StKilda asked WCE about Andrew Gaff.Eagles said not for sale.

Zac Clarke… gone.No surprise.
Griffen … gone… No surprise.
Collins… gone.I am not surprised , but it leaves me a bit bemused. The club seemed keen on him right up to seasons end.But cut him loose.Similar to Jacob Ballard.
DeLuca .. gone. Not sure what I think of this.
Uebergang. gone.Guess he just wasn’t going to cut the mustard.
Apparently the Neeshies and Dockers have come to term over Wilson.
Also GCS and Freo agree on Matera returning home.
Sheridan and Grey re-signed.Not sure about Sherro Am a bit surprised they have kept Sutcliffe..

Wasn’t surprised with Collins, he was just not mobile enough and skills under pressure weren’t that good. Very good at WAFL level though. Sutcliffe is a bit of a worry and so is Sherridan. Be interesting now to see what developes over this period.

JB, I am not sure Sherro or Sutcliffe would get much interest from other clubs.
Crozier will be a bonus for the Doggies. I am sure they will allow him to play with more flair that was allowed at Fremantle.

Crozier will be very good at the Doggies.

Every thing is very quiet about Taberner.I am guessing that there will be interest later in the week, but who from , I have no idea.

Why would the Dockers let Taberner go when they have invested so much in him and their major weakness is a lack of tall marking forwards? McCarthy and Kersten are OK but inconsistent.

Are key forwards even required anymore maybe one for structure, the last two premiers have proven medium mobile forwards work, specially with small Fwds getting goal side after turn overs.

From talk, it appears that the Dockers are after another big ruckman/ forward. His name is Sam Hayes.203 and I think I read about 85 Kgs. Supposedly a good mark and can play either position.
Maybe the Dockers are waiting to see if there is someone interested before making a decision on Tabs.

I reckon Taberner could be part of Hogan deal, most likely pick 5 and Taberner for Hogan. If they can’t pull that off then they will re sign Taberner and pick up Sam Hayes with pick 5.

Five and Taberner for Hogan!!!
Nah far to much.
though I think Hogan is a very good footballer, I am not sure he has the right attitude to make a real success of his career.
Taberner maybe, but not Tabs and five.

Yeah don’t know about that he’s contracted would have to be pick 5 and next years first at least, as for his attitude his dad has just passed after a fight with cancer and he’s also just recovered from testicular cancer, and a broken collarbone to end his season, don’t know if my attitude would be to great after that.

PN, I understand all that , but he worries me.Not sure he would be a good fit.But Who knows.
Just think Five and Tabs is too much.

I heard today Kirk Tippett was taken in the last week or so on a tour of Freo’s facility at Cockburn…he would be a good fit for the Dockers and is currently out of favour at the Swans. I’m not sure if it’s true or not but would be bloody hard to match up on in Peel’s three-peat GF next year.

Good rumour BC.Strong overhead mark.Where the Swans paying him 650k a year.

Make no mistake BC, He would not be playing for at any stage of the season should the Dockers get him.Which I think is highly unlikely.

No way would the Dee’s accept five and Craberner for Hogan. Hogan kicked more goals as an 18yo than Craberner has in his many seasons on Fremantles list.
