2026 for EP

Any East Perth fellas know much about Kade Screaigh and how he has gone playing league in the practice games? Screaigh being an old WAFL football name with links at Subi & East Perth I think?

Confirmed Raykos taking “a break” from WAFL and will play as a loan player with Harvey-Brunswick in SWFL. May make a return to EP later in season.

Good Luck to him and Harvey/Brunswick.:+1:

Trevor is his dad as far as I know.

I must admit,I thought he was Chris’ young fella.

Ignore this Trevor.

Thought you were talking about young Raykos, tried to discard it,but wasn’t allowed to.

Trevor Screaigh played for Subi (colts) East Perth & Peel. And coached at West Perth I think during a premiership year

I’m afraid there are a few worrying sign’s heading into the Good Friday opener, which has forced me to temper my optimism for season 2026.Our preseason form has been quite underwhelming, with no sign of Scott Jones, and with Tedesco out for a few weeks, and the solid midfield contributor Raykos opting to play in the bush, and the questionable value of recruits Freitag and Foley,it’s now a definite wait and see regarding our fortunes in 2026.

We got absolutely smashed during every preseason game last year. Jones was nursing a finger injury, teddy is a loss but everyone else is ready. Freitag is brand new to the club and has bagged 4 goals during preseason and wasn’t picked up as a number 1 target. Middleton has had a great preseason and hopefully kuek has a better 2026. Stephens is ready to fire which will only help our strong midfield as will craven. Lets see how we go after 4 or 5 games before we start tempering expectations I think

My mail last week, was that Coach Roscoe was non too pleased with our scratch match effort against the reigning premiers, and gave the boys a bit of a bake,so the opener against our neighbours, who look like this season’s big improvers, will be a very big test.

Agreed, subi will be ready to go with schoey back at the helm and will be very tough. Great test first up.

Scragger was also a Perth Talent Manager a couple years ago, one of their (4-5??) in the last few years. Watched him play around the 2000’s at Valley … boy the lad could play footy and his son is a great lad. Hopefully makes a good go of it.

That was as good as a win.Subi are obviously up and about at this early stage of the season, but to comeback and draw level in the last quarter, after being 40 down at the 17 minute mark of the 3rd quarter was a tremendous effort, and we kept them goalless for half an hour until Sokol scored their next one at the 17 minute of the last, and it was a valiant effort in a high quality game.

Last years knee stricken recruit,Cooper Stephens showed he will be an outstanding midfield addition, and Darcy Craven with his 3 goals and Luke Foley, who looks a very dependable defender, will no doubt bolster our side, and Tom Graham with his 5 goals, and the mercurial Sebit with his 3,look set for big years

I thought Jonesy struggled with this new centre line rule in the first half, but improved markedly in the second half, where he began to adjust and started to dominate, and was a major reason why we fought back and nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback.

Fair points RL. Subi had to fight like hell, too. Great game. I’d be a bit worried about relying on the passing game.

Yes,it was a great game JL,and I was bewildered how easily Subi were able to whisk the ball out of the middle so quickly in the first half, and kick some soft goals, but we clicked into gear, and a win or narrow loss, was a pass mark for me.
