Agreed, Lucky, I think that we’ll need to win 3, maybe 4, of our 5 games to qualify for the finals.
It helps that we largely play teams competing for a finals spot, meaning that our destiny is in our own hands.
All spot on guys. We are average let’s be honest. Some games above average and some below. The Intensity we play at is simply not up to it. No Ameduri to set the tone in that regard but I thought Ben was inspirational in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately nobody else stepped up with him
I fully agree, Larry, inconsistency (and also injuries) has been our biggest bugbear in 2026.
Taking Peel out of the equation, we’re capable of beating any other side on our day.
However, as we’ve shown, we’re also capable of losing to all comers - a team just has to be 5-10% off its game and they have an L and not a W next to their name.
I agree that Ben Middleton, although quiet in the first three quarters, was very good in the last quarter.
We certainly miss Christian Ameduri’s fierce attack on both the ball and his opponent.
Gee more big outs. Watts, North, Stephens and Saunders.
Stephens is virtually an intermittent recruit,much like Nick Robertson and the highly talented but injury plagued home grown Jackson Ramsay,and we’ve struggled to get full value out of these highly touted players.

So many things to say but cowardice prevents me, one thing is why we keep playing this season’s version of Eddie Simpson, he was ok in the reserves but to me he is what he was at WCER a reserves player
If the Coach and Selectors think he is good enough to play League football for East Perth, then who are we supporters to argue.
Well to me that is one of the joys of being a supporter, and it isn’t about the coaching per se I just do not rate him and that just an opinion, I would rather have someone who contributes for the whole game and not just when luck finds him a good position. Guillini, the Pizz and others are 100% contributors.
I think Burgiel has the ability to play well at this level,but doesn’t seem to get involved enough,and although the forward line is too top heavy and he was dropped today,I would’ve swung Tommy Graham back at full back to replace Watts.
Your description of his play is exactly what I alluded to, ability maybe but use it for the whole game rather than being the constant outside player waiting for the number 72 to wembley
I think he’ll get more midfield time today,so let’s see what he’s got,and hopefully Sam Van Diemen can also prove he’s also more than a goal sneak,as he hasn’t been that effective in his new midfield role.

Grump, you say that Burgiel doesn’t get involved enough. What then is your view on Sebit Kuek? Does he do enough to keep his place week after week?
And lucky; how do you think Tommy Graham would go at centre-half-back?
I think he’d make a great key defender,as he’s got the size,and can mark and punch all day long,as I think there’s been enough evidence to suggest,that his goal kicking as a forward really lets him down.
I know it’s a catch 22,but maybe Macreedie who’s our best key defender,would potentially be our best key forward as well.

As much as Like Sebit I think he is developing into a third wheel. I would rather have Delaney (when fit from his shoulder injury). Also another small to compliment Middleton, Graham, Schofield and Medhat (who should be playing every week as a Mr Gadget)
Never thought about Thomas as a backman but he has the football ability and nouse so could be a good thing.
Any ideas on ex-Colt, Liam McAlister from Mt. Lawley? I’m not sure what position he plays, but he sure knows how to get the ball and what to do with it.
There is a lot of praise from an ex coach who is now at WP for him. He reckons a season in the Reserves will provide a good basis for him to come in next year as a small forward/mid. From my watching of him in the Reserves (home and Basso games only) I like the way he goes about it.
OK Eddie has shown something and justified his inclusion,
Burgiel showed a bit in the midfield,and has that touch of class around the goals,and I thought the forward line looked more flexible and balanced with Medhat in there,and Middleton also led well from the square,so let’s hope we can get on a roll.
