2025 SFFC GF Official Thread

 K - lets get this rolling…

At least the weather gods are going to be kind on the big day with fine conditions forecasted. Both clubs have a good supporter base and hopefully 30 thousand people are in attendance. Although realising that figure being a bit ambitious because Wafl crowds well down this season

My guess is less than 30, but I think it’ll be close. It’s more expensive this year.

The boxes have gone up a fortune, gone the last few years upmarket but normal seat this year, our group decided it’s way too much now.

Only $20 difference. Well worth it I would have thought.

If it was only $20 we would be back. It’s gone up much more than that.

I checked the other day there’s a topic here on it. $45 general admission, $65 for the Sports Lounge.

50 odd bucks with bs admin price for general is far too much, they have jacked the price up as Optus is such an expensive venue to hire.

Yeh I think they are charging $7.50 booking fee. That equates to $187,500 for a crowd of 25,000. I guess the venue wants their money and the ticketing agents want theirs. I won’t be there but nothing would stop me if my team was in it though I’ve been crook as a dog lately.

Good luck to both teams hopefully it’s a close one.

My bad, I meant the catered boxes. A few years ago it was roughly $100 a head for food drinks etc, now it’s getting close to double that.

Everything has gone through the roof mate especially when it comes to food. I’m sure last time I bought a Curry Laksa was around $13 -$15. Went to buy one around the corner of my place last night, $21. I just walked out shaking my head.

Yep 180K is the break even price to hire Optus.

I bet they won’t be too greedy with pricing for the State of Origin because the government has paid millions to make it a tourism and televised event so they want that thing filled.

But it seems Venues West is prepared to sacrifice 5000 spectators with higher gate fees for the WAFL GF.

That’s correct RednBlack, they are subsidising all these crazy events cage fights , rugby, paying rock stars to come here etc. Outrageous that these figures are kept secret from tax payers.
Yet tourism numbers are still tanking,

SANFL have the best set up - totally owner operate with SACA , keeps all the costs real.

We need a second tier stadium with WACA for same sort of deal.

Baz in an ideal world we would have a 25-30,000 seat secondary stadium but I just can’t see it happening anywhere. They want to reduce the WACA capacity not increase it. When Fremantle Oval is eventually redeveloped I can’t see that having a capacity anymore than 15,000 and that just doesn’t cut it for WAFL football’s biggest day.

Heard on the grapevine Souths will be going into the match with no injuries & their full squad available. Apparently paying 1$ and 12c for the win. And the Royals currently sitting on five dollars 40c for the win. The Wafl needs a good close Grand Final and not a demoralizing one sided match.

Freo redevelopment will never happen in my lifetime.

Sadly Bazza, that story has gone quiet in the last 12 months.

Good to see Main named and possibly get a run for the Southerners. And for the opponents Van Diemen is coming back into the team.
