WP V's The Gummy Sharks

Great win by the boys considering the start we had. Kerr, Razor, Blacky and Hutchie were brilliant, our back half Jones, Tedesco led the way and Johnson did some magical things although a little quite. My special mention goes to Crispie, he was brilliant and a great find for us this year.

Cardy, a little harsh on Blacky, he was about 45 out and hit Razor on the chest 20m out directly in front on his own and he just dropped an absolute sitter, hardly Blacky’s fault !

Yeh well he was well inside 50 Leedy as I WAS in the Shark pit and very close. But hey just a bit of humour on my part as we got the points and it was a great game. We just have to bring this form and match plan back in 3 weeks time v Perth and we will go a long way.
Going to CLA V EF as a neutral on our bye weekend after the state game but from what I Saw today CLA will have to be favourites but then arent they always?

Special thanks must go to slick , that mark in the second quarter was gutsy and huge. Ill dig it out and post it.

SHIT ! I forgot about Slick, he was outstanding and a joy to watch that grab !

Remember that one Winger.. Had 2 EF on him as well from memory. But Slick has a habit of doing that when it is needed. A asset to the club

Winger,

Jay Tindall was the name I was chasing last week, does anyone know where he has gone ?

Hey Leedy (Yeh I know should of been another topic) A EF supporter told me Dustin Burns is coaching in WA and took a couple of WPFC guys with him.
Loved the guy in defence and was always easy to talk to. Wish him all the best. Must look him up on the leagues and follow his coaching..

Heres an article I got via Google. Always great to read about how our past players are going.. I wondered about Dylan as well as saw assisting at every game last year.

Didn’t Strijk play a blinder with Jones and Pettigrew on that half back line.

must say that game was one out of the box. restored a bit of my faith in the wafl in an otherwise flat feeling of a season. it is still a great comp when you see football matches like this. i just watched dockers v suns and it was uninspiring compared to this wp v ef game. well done to both clubs. great shootout like the old days. just shows you can pay fellas 100 times the amount, doesnt mean we will be as entertained.

You said it all mate AS I kept saying to the EF guys in the Shark pit it was a great day for the WAFL… Pity as next year it will all change.
Agree with the Dockers game boring to say the least. Most WAFL GAMES today were close and the lead kept changing what a comp we have or had

Heres the stats from the WAFL site..

Dont know about the 2000 turnup? I thought 1200 to 1400 closer to the mark?
It was a brilliant day for Footy. EF appeared to have the majority of the crowd. Being a ABC game suspect a lot stayed home and watched it on TV :frowning:

Went home and put the Dorkers game on and gave up as it was so medicore and bloody Depressing after watching the EF V WP Game in the Shark pit..

Shame the WAFC/WAFC couldnt address the imbalance. A great day for Footy at the game yet no one turned up.. A bit of paid advertising on TV would be a start and PROMOTION in the Media..
But then again with the Alignment comming up I suppose there attitude is who cares about the WAFL they are only a Feeder comp , 2nd Tier to the AFL :frowning:

State game next week TV job for me even though it will be Delayed on TV (BE AWARE OF THAT)…eg

The State Game starts at 12.15pm on Saturday, May 11 and will be telecast by ABC TV live in Victoria and delayed in WA until 2pm.

The week after WP Bye :frowning: So off to CLA V EF at Claremont… Should be a ripper… That wont be promoted so no one will turn up for that either. Farking Pathetic…Seeya there if your a WP supporter

I njoyed yesterday at EF oval and with 45 goals kicked was a fast high class game! Shits on the freo game as a spectacle, people dont know what they are missing when they are plastered to their couch watching crap
Unfortunately only about 1000 there and that would be stretching it i reckon

I rang up Maumill and Hagdorn this morning and gave the game the wrap it deserved, whats frustrating is how Hagdorn always trys to deflect to the AFL listed players playing and finding an angle all the time, but I put straight and gave Slick, Kerr and Crisp a good wrap and Bobby asked me tell him more about Keunan so I filled him in on his talents, I told them both it was 80`s like scoring and was all over the Frem v GC game by a mile as a spectacle!!

heard your call, mate, good stuff, haggas will always defect what you are saying. he couldn’t deflect a ball at cricket could he.

One of my pet hates is the medias focus on the AFL players when covering the WAFL .Sometimes they completely ignore the other players even when they are BOG.
Watched first half on ABC and it just shows that the WAFL still is a quality competition despite all the stuff going on around it !

ABC VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS Stats and interview with Bill all up a good watch
