WP V's The Gummy Sharks

Much to prove and much to retain this week

Prove we have the ability to focus, improve and then to learn from last 2 x weeks skill and choice errors - - much to retain in our spot on the ladder, our belief in ourselves that as a team these past weeks were speed bumps only and that the teams above us on the ladder are there just to keep our spot warm -

We seem to enjoy the contest with the Sharks, thats not to say that the day is taken lightly but it seems in the past that both teams step up to each other on the day.

I am interested to see the line up for this week - what inclusions from the reserves and what ommissions from the leaugue.
The past few weeks have shown some unhealthy signs in several of the players and its a toss up that they will learn to be a team player or remain more “its all about me”
I refer to a number of the engine room players to be open about it.

Its not a “stat fest” but rather a team relying on these same players to be focused about their kicks, to think about who is open and ready, to place the ball and not for heavens sake ‘Bomb Long’ and hope for the best… Then again I ask - is it better to persist, leave the team and make the point on the filed…?? Oh… woes for the coach.
Its another TV game on the ABC - Good for the couch coaches, home bodies, cash strapped seniors and away workers, but for the sake of the players - its a game that needs support and they need to hear there name being called!!!

Hope you smash the sharks. They are 200-500 supporters short every week(excepting derbies)

The worry for WP is that the club seems to not have depth. By this I mean that yur reserve team never seems to do well.

Interesting that the tip 4 play the top 4 this week. Should be good for the Swans.

Perth yet to have a game telecast this year. Poor from the abc.

Is that the reason you want to see the Sharks smashed?

Cheers for the comments - and I agree, to a point
I think that the WP reserves are much better than they perform and that to many will most likely sound quite silly…
It seems to me that they as the Leauge Team are struggling to believe in themselves past a certain point.

That point isnt when it gets hard as they are both capable of taking it to any team on any day at any time - Sometimes its going back to the basics of ‘just get the ball and move it forward’, dont over think it.

It doesnt have to be pretty - it just has to be smart

Yes to shark 58. I think each club must do everything they can to get supporters to theier games, home and away. EF get bumper crowds to derbys and no crowds to other teams. this should be addressed.

The ressies are their own worst enemies and a coaches nightmare they should of had at least 4 wins this season but let it get away from them. Especially last week when well in front. Wouldnt be surprised to see them get over the line this week.

tell me what Perth do again?..your match day crowds have been worse than EF from memory?..check out LH round up stats on the WAFL thread?..yeah I know not all EF fans, but either EF fans are turning up to these games, or opposition fans are quite keen watching the Sharks play?..every year I hear how PFC is one of the most WAFL supported clubs…perhaps on the footy forums, but those stats LH/Bensti collates each year suggest other wise…

Here’s hoping CL turn it on for their 5 fans this weekend and rip PFC another arse, like they did last year to the tune of 140 odd points then!!

Haha knew this post wasn’t going to end well for TFAF.

Haha, got that right Pete, although I do hope we smash them, particularly after they gave us a 100p hiding last year !

Leedy I feel we will win the Ressies and League. EF havent been travelling that well which surprises me. Colts? Bit undermanned and EF unit pretty good.
Looking forward to the team lineup but cant see to many changes.
All we want is 4 qtrs of Good footy off all our sides
Looking forward to the games as we have a 3 week break after this one for State game and we have a bye after that. :frowning: Will be looking for a neutral game on our Bye weekend. Most probably CLA V EF at Claremont should be a ripper.

Will be in the Shark Pit keeping those EF guys under control  Drop in and say hello

Percy Johnson said there is some type of Function (Life members) re players that day.. So could be a good turn up. Here is his interview if you missed it. Jump over the AFL Crap at the beginning and not a bad interview re WAFL

No Pettigrew on that list? Didnt it say general soreness in the paper? Surley it must have been worse than that to miss an ANZAC day game.. Gee imagine those ANZACS if one of them said right im out with general soreness today so i cant fight.. bloody hell.

Some bad news coming our way very soon boys, I can’t say much more but it is gonna hurt !

I have picked EF but hope WP win

Yeh I heard Leedy, just sucks, this year is just going to be one of those years isn’t it.. :frowning:

Hey Falcon every club has its injuries :frowning: All part of footy..

Lets hope we dont lose Hutchy this week..

Make sure you make plenty of noise. Had a couple of EF supporters tell me to keep it down at Lathlain the other week. And while i am loud i am in no way abusive - they were way out of line

FALCONS LOSE MANNING TO KNEE INJURY. From the Falcons web site.
THE DEVASTATING run of serious knee injuries in the game has struck West Perth with versatile 21-year-old Kody Manning rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament at training this week cruelling ending his 2013 season.

Manning was involved in a relatively innocuous contest at training on Tuesday night with West Perth getting ready to take on East Fremantle at East Fremantle Oval this Saturday following the club’s first two losses of 2013, but then he felt something go in his knee and scans have revealed the worst.

Manning has now played 29 games for the Falcons and was currently enjoying his best and most consistent season in a new role up forward where his primary job was to put on enormous pressure, but he also has bobbed up to kick five goals.
