Wouldn't it be Great

Wouldn’t it be great if we had a real AFL.

Back to the VFL to St Kilda, Footscray, and North Melbourne,

Back to the SNAFL to Port.

14 teams remaining playing the other 13 twice for a 26 round comp. Each at the others home ground.

26 round comp.

Top 5.

Hawthorn to Horbart
Bombers to Canberra
Tigers to South Aus

All teams relocated have the option to stay in the VFL or SNAFL

I’m not quite sure this is the right method though. There is already a Tigers side in the SANFL…

As for Essendon to Canberra, you would be better promoting a local side. There are some big Aussie rules clubs in Canberra who have quite proud old heritages - Ainslie and Eastlake are just two such clubs.

The AFL should have been modelled similar to the current NEAFL system - http://www.neafl.com.au

Ahhh yes 60,000 melb based bombers fans/members gunn be rapt, mind you i dont think the 38 gws supporters would care. Hey i like the home ground bit, where are freo gunna play?

I half thought you may be serious until you said Bombers to Canberra and Tigers to the SANFL.
Remember the uproar about North shifting to the Gold Coast!!!Imagine what would happen if you tried to move the Tigers out of Melbourne!!!The Roos have hardly any real followers, so the Tigers army would go beserk.
I had to stop and think if it was April Fools day.
Absolute fantasy.
They would still play at Subi of course Unka. Same place at where the West Coast play.

Ok no to Richmond to SA and Bommers to Canberra. Rest stands,

Serioulsy these clubs (tiges and bombers) have over a 100 years of history that has passed throgh families etc etc. Both have HUGE fan bases in Melb. Maybe merge relocate the weaker supported teams, THOUGH i dont think in some cases messing with tradition is a good thing

IMO crazy ideas

Hawthorn to Horbart, but that’s all you would get.
I am bemused by your logic can you please explain how you could ruin three sides from SA!!

The AFL is only the format it is because of Wet Toast joining an extended VFL.

The best idea the AFL has had is the format in which they run the NEAFL.

It essentially joins the ACTAFL and the QAFL together. All the Queensland teams play in the Northern Confrence (includes reserves for Brisbane and Gold Coast), and the Canberra/NSW based teams in the Eastern Conference (Includes Sydney and GWS).

They play most their games within their specified conference, however there are inter conference matches. Ie There are two teams that wear red white and black. Morningside in QLD, and Ainsle in the ACT, and also two Tiger teams Broadbeach and Queanbeyan Tigers.

It allows for them to play off against one another. ie Tigers v Tigers.

THE BIG IF …

If there was still the VFL, SANFL and WAFL, then Claremont could play against Richmond or Glenlg. Whist Perth may play Norwood and Essendon, they would still play their majority of games in the WAFL.

More teams, and cuts down costs of travelling.

If East Perth were to play South Fremantle in the WAFL Grand Final and South win, then they are WAFL Premiers. They will then go to play against the Premiers in the SANFL or VFL until there is a AFL Champion - who could be the Central Districts
Bulldogs or the Footscray Bulldogs or South Fremantle Bulldogs.

In my opinion, this would be a true Australian Football League.
