Well that was unexpected!Where was that commitment the last few weeks.Mathematically we can still make it - the big question is can we sustain that for the rest of the home and away season.Clearly our best performance for the season so hope that wet sail is around.
watched a bit of this one - good result that puts Mandurah right in the firing line
Hopefully the Cardinals can keep winning and tip them out of it
Nathan Alexandres knee injury is a concern. Poor bugger, he’s such a good player. We have to keep winning and the cards have to fall our way. I couldn’t believe how poor Claremont were today. They are better than that. Good to see Foley back in the seconds and a bloody good win by them.
mate I was bloody concerned that it took some yelling from everywhere for the umpires to stop the game - a lot of them around the ground
not good
Good to get back to our 2022 Premiership form but may be too little too late. We are now chasing Peel who are 2 games & 8% in front of us and we play them in a few weeks which we will have our destiny in our own hands. If everything goes to script when we play them it will be 4 points separating us.
Peel are playing
West Coast
Claremont
West Perth
Swan Districts
West Perth are playing
Perth
South Fremantle
Peel
East Perth
Assuming Peel and West Perth win next week, the gap will still be 8 points + percentage. Lets assume that Claremont roll Peel (not a given of course) and West Perth beat SF, then it will be 4 points the difference when they face off in round 19. If West Perth win, they will be equal with Peel but possibly still behind on percentage. If this is the case then you cardies supporters will be keeping one eye on the game at Bassendean while trying to beat East Perth.
An unlikely set of circumstances but where theres life theres hope
You’ve summed it up pretty well Mikeh .Lots of ifs and buts before the qualifying season ends and we might be needing your side to perform some hard work for us in that last match. The irony is that if we had beaten you a few weeks ago our task would be a little easier. Not saying you didn’t deserve to win that day because you did - just another example of an “if”!
The 8% we need to catch up could be partially tightened next w/end. Perth are playing a lot worse than WCER atm and hopefully we can take advantage of that while Peel have a close game.
See where you are coming from Whinnen and a big win would be useful but the bye has come at a bad time for mine.Last weeks performance was what we were dishing up last season and the momentum created hopefully won’t disappear with the break.Sometimes (and more than often)Sides switch off when they don’t play consecutively.Should be an interesting few weeks.
